The role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certification Expert to join our team. This pivotal role requires a professional with a strong background in software, electronics, and system-level certification programs. The ideal candidate will have participated in the entire lifecycle of a certification program and possess deep expertise in critical aerospace standards. This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility while ensuring collaborative team engagement. Depending on program needs, this expert may serve as both a Quality Assurance Engineer and a Certification Verification Engineer (CVE).

The day-to-day

• Lead and participate in all phases of the certification lifecycle for complex software, electronics, and system developments, from planning through verification and approval.

• Apply in-depth knowledge of aerospace certification standards, specifically DO-178C, DO-254, and/or ARP4754A/B, to ensure compliance.

• Act as a Quality Assurance Engineer, overseeing process adherence, conducting audits, and ensuring the quality of certification artifacts.

• Perform duties as a Certification Verification Engineer (CVE), reviewing and approving certification data and evidence.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate certification requirements into design and development processes.

• Interface with regulatory authorities, including military authorities, as needed to support certification efforts.

• Prepare and present certification plans, reports, and documentation to internal stakeholders and external authorities.

You should apply if you

• You possess significant experience as a Certification Expert with a focus on software, electronics, and system-level certification.

• You have actively participated in the full lifecycle of at least one major certification program.

• You are proficient in at least one of the following standards: DO-178C, DO-254, or ARP4754A/B, and are eager to expand your expertise in the others.

• You are capable of acting as both a Quality Assurance Engineer and a Certification Verification Engineer (CVE).

• You thrive in a hybrid work environment.

• Hold, or are demonstrably eligible to obtain, the required level of security clearance.
