POLITICO Studio, the in-house creative agency of POLITICO Europe, is seeking a temporary full-time Graphic Designer (maternity cover) to create bold, intelligent design across traditional and digital formats.

The position is envisaged to begin in January 2023 for at least four months, with the possibility of part-time extension.

POLITICO is a pioneering and growing media company that covers the politics, policy, and personalities of the European Union.

This is a full-time position with hybrid working, located in Brussels or Paris, London or Berlin.

Role & Responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate Will…

• Understand visual storytelling and what makes a story engaging online, as well as in print
• Work directly with internal and external stakeholders, take briefs and collaborate with creative agencies and freelancers
• Manage the delivery of projects on time and to budget
• Use design thinking to plan creative executions and unifying concepts for big campaigns
• Create interactive data visualizations
• Design and produce advertising to market partnerships
• Improve presentation and proposal templates for the Media Solutions team
• Champion visual consistency across POLITICO Studio projects
• Work across multiple platforms and stay on top of the latest design solutions

• Minimum 3 years relevant job experience, including digital/data storytelling
• Knowledge of UI and UX concepts to produce effective wireframes and online experiences
• Degree in fine arts or graphic design
• Advanced knowledge of key design software applications: Adobe Illustrator, In-design, Google Suite, MS office, Photoshop plus strong working knowledge of PowerPoint
• Excellent time and project management skills, comfortable working on simultaneous briefs and multiple stakeholders
• Strong eye for photography and art direction
• Knowledge of Word Press and HTML are an advantage
• Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Effects are also a plus
