A graduate of the Ecole des Mines de Paris (Civil Engineer 2007, Corps des Mines 2010), Sylvain began his career at the State Equity Agency before co-founding DNA Script in 2014.

Sylvain is the winner of the MIT Technology Review's Innovator of the Year Under 35 Award.

Born and (university) educated in South Africa, raised in Namibia and with work experience as a postdoc in the USA and afterwards as a Senior Scientist at Roche Sequencing Solutions (Cape Town), Wesley joined DNA Script (Paris) as a Senior Research Scientist during October 2019. Much of his previous scientific career was focused on utilizing experimental evolution to understand biological processes. Now, as a member of the enzyme engineering team at DNA Script, Wesley is harnessing the power of directed evolution to help engineer the proteins used in the DNA printing technology of DNA Script. In his free time, Wesley loves to travel adventurously, especially by bicycle. After his tenure in the USA, he travelled on his bicycle from Nairobi, Kenya, down to Cape Town, South Africa, a distance of nearly 9,000 km. During these travels, he also visited several African research institutions and, from his tent in the African bush, wrote blogs about science in Africa and the fight against the evolution of antibiotic resistance.

Once his doctorate in biochemistry was completed, Jérôme spent a few years at the Pasteur Institute to deepen his knowledge by studying DNA polymerases. Since the spring of 2018, he has been in charge of the enzyme production team, in charge of producing and purifying the different enzymes developed by DNA Script. Jérôme always sees the glass completely full and tends to make his good mood contagious. A great lover of board games, he also loves all kinds of gadgets and technological novelties. #gadgetophile #technophile.

After obtaining her Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, she worked for 4 years as a design engineer in a CNRS research team to study epigenetics. After an experience in the public sector, she wanted to join the world of biotech and decided to join a start-up company. She joined DNA Script in September 2019, as an engineer on the synthesis platform to participate in the development of this new DNA printer. In particular, she is setting up the reagent stability studies and the validation of all the elements necessary for DNA synthesis. A little bit of everything, when she is not doing new experiments in the laboratory, she experiments with new recipes in cooking, cosmetics or new sewing projects.

Faten has a doctorate in enzymatic engineering from INSA Toulouse. Before joining DNA Script in the summer of 2018, she worked for nearly three years on DNA polymerases and modified DNA in a research team in synthetic biology.

Faten is responsible for the characterisation of enzyme mutants generated by the enzyme engineering team. This involves validating their performance for use in the proprietary DNA synthesis process developed by DNA Script.

Henri is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole des Mines de Paris, specialising in biotechnology.

Henri joined DNA Script in 2017 upon completion of his studies. He is in charge of the design and manufacture of the DNA synthesis equipment used in the company's laboratories.

Chiraz Khayat is a PhD - engineer in biology / biotechnology. Her last job was Marketing Manager and Senior Product Line at Thales for the radiology segment (manufacturing digital flat panel detectors for X-Ray, with big focus on digital offer and innovative material for radiology). After her PhD. she set-up a start-up dedicated to immuno-enzymatic kits development for detection of pesticides.

After she worked as a project manager in Biophotonics at Opticsvalley, the first network in optics, electronics and software engineering in Paris region. Then she spent more than 13 years at HORIBA Scientific as SPRi line manager and as an expert in optical instrumentation for the life sciences. Her technical expertise covers molecular interactions, surface plasmon resonance analysis, surface chemistry, medical imaging (specifically radiology). She is also experienced on strategic marketing for product development. During her career she analyzed around 97 projects: technology transfer, licensing or company acquisition and she managed or participated to 33 European & National projects, 13 of them have been funded. She has joined DNA SCRIPT in 2022 as the Director, Instrument Product Management.

Born of Scottish/French parents, Eliot followed French/British schooling before graduating from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, with a Master’s Degree in Business Management. During his degree, he co-founded a web-magazine (Felfelosophy) promoting musical artists and organizing concerts in Parisian concert venues.

In 2016, He joined Pact&Partners, an international recruitment agency specialized in Life Sciences (Pharma, MedTech, Biotechnologies, Digital Health, Human and Animal Nutrition …) as a Research Associate before being promoted to Consultant in 2018 and UK/Ireland Area Manager in 2019. Throughout his time there I assisted a large number of private and public companies in the recruitment of their top executives in R&D, Medical Affairs, Production, Marketing / Sales, Support functions in Europe, Asia and North America.

Since 2021, Eliot leads the global recruitment strategy of DNA SCRIPT and ensures the right candidates are hired for the company.

Kahina Ait Hamadouche graduated from IMT EVRY in 2018 as a technician in bioproduction and industrialization with a scientific baccalaureate and a master 2 in process engineering obtained in 2009 at the University of Bejaia Algeria.

Since January 2019, Kahina have been working as USP/DSP technician for Yposkesi. During the different missions, she acquired knowledge and technical skills in both USP and DSP.

Presentation

DNA Script is a leading company in manufacturing de novo synthetic nucleic acids using enzymatic DNA synthesis (EDS) technology. The company aims at accelerating innovation in life science and technology through the decentralization of rapid, on demand and high-quality DNA synthesis. DNA Script's approach leverages nature's billions of years of evolution in synthesizing DNA to set a new standard for customizing nucleic acid synthesis thus accelerating discovery in genetics, genomics, and synthetic biology. Discovery disciplines with profound impacts upon humanity such as biopharma, translational genetics and even molecular information storage all start with synthetic DNA. The company has recently initiated the commercialization of its first EDS powered platform, the SYNTAX system.

To date, DNA Script has raised over $315M of financing, with leading investors such as Coatue Management, Fidelity Management and Research, Catalio Capital Management, Casdin Capital, LSP, Bpifrance Large Ventures, Danaher, Illumina Ventures, Agilent, Merck Ventures, Sofinnova Partners, Kurma Partners and Eurazeo.

DNA Script also partners on technology and product development with leading organizations such as DARPA, IARPA, Moderna Therapeutics, GE Research, Illumina, the Broad Institute, Harvard University, Institut Pasteur and the French Department of Defense.

DNA Script has its research and manufacturing facilities headquartered in Paris, France, and is in the process of expanding its commercial and development teams in South San Francisco.
