The Role

DNA Script is looking for a talented patent watch engineer to join the IP Team to support the development of the company. The position will be based in our Paris headquarters. The candidate will be participating in (i) prior art & FTO searches ; (ii) patent committee and idea sourcing ; and (iii) IP competitive intelligence actions.
The position reports to our European patent attorney, based in Paris headquarters.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prior art & Freedom-to-Operate searches
  • Provide claim charts
  • IP landscaping to support R&D and top management
  • Analysis and distribution of a monthly report on publication of new relevant patents
  • Patent portfolio reviews for competitive intelligence
  • Generation of Technological roadmaps
  • Support patent attorneys with administration of invention disclosure
  • Training in prior art searches (English and French)

Preferred experience

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering
  • At least 3 years’ experience performing technical searches and reporting in an international environment
  • Preference to knowledge of patent search databases such as Patbase, Orbitz, and Derwent.
