Deliveroo, part of the DoorDash group, is building the leading local commerce platform, connecting consumers, merchants, and couriers in real time.The Grocery Specialist portfolio holds significant strategic importance for Deliveroo France. This is attributed to its dynamic nature, the inclusion of a diverse array of partners (such as bakeries, patisseries, butchers, and wine sellers), and the highly competitive market landscape.

The Client Partner – Grocery Specialist role is designed to combine strategic partner management, team management, and organisation building.

The Role

As a Client Partner, you will report to the Head of Specialist, Convenience and Sales, part of the New Vertical team. The position is based in Paris.

The Client Partner – Grocery Specialist Team Lead roles are:

  • Lead a team of Account Managers. You’ll be responsible for setting clear objectives, providing regular coaching and feedback, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented team environment.

  • Manage directly highly strategic Specialist partners. This entails developing and maintaining deep, productive relationships with these key accounts, ensuring alignment with overarching company goals, and driving maximum value from your partners. The role requires a proactive approach to partner engagement, including negotiating complex agreements, coordinating cross-functional support (e.g., marketing, operations, technology), and regularly evaluating performance metrics to identify opportunities for expansion and optimization.

  • Execute and optimize the strategy of the Specialist segment. Develop the comprehensive strategic direction for the Specialist segments, focusing on sustainable growth, market positioning, and operational excellence. This strategy must define the long-term vision, identify opportunities/threats, and set measurable objectives.

This is a leadership role with direct impact on customer experience, partner satisfaction and team development across France.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Team Management

  • Responsible for setting clear performance objectives.

  • Coach and mentor all team’s talent. Provide regular coaching and feedback. Run performance review.

  • Foster a collaborative and goal-oriented team environment.

  • Ensure 5★ account management standards across the team, with clear portfolio sizing, process and governance

  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights on Deliveroo capabilities, competitors, and market

  1. Account Manager of Strategic Partners

  • Develop and maintain deep, productive relationships with key accounts

  • Create and execute joint business plans addressing partner growth, profitability, and operational performance

  • Ensure alignment with overarching company goals

  • Proactively engage partners, including negotiating complex agreements

  • Coordinate cross-functional support (e.g., marketing, operations, technology)

  • Regularly evaluate performance metrics to identify opportunities for expansion and optimisation

  1. Lead Commercial Strategy & Execution Excellence

  • Own the end-to-end growth of the Grocery Specialist segment

  • Develop the commercial strategy based on deep data analysis and market insights.

  • Ensure best operational excellence among team and improve process to drive efficiency

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior and C-level stakeholders

  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and upsell strategies

  1. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with Operations, Marketing, Product, Strategy, and Finance

  • Represent your portfolio and organisation in leadership forums

  • Influence roadmap and prioritisation through structured partner and market feedback

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years in commercial, client partnership, or account management roles

  • Proven experience managing complex, strategic brand portfolios

  • Demonstrated success leading a team in fast-paced environments

  • Experience in F&B, Hospitality, Retail, FMCG, or Marketplace businesses preferred

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen (P&L understanding)

  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to run deep and structured data-driven analysis

  • Senior, credible, and resilient leader

  • High ownership mindset with a bias for action

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change

  • Passionate about people development and raising standards
