The position

Job description

The Legal Corporate & Compliance team is in charge of overseeing and managing the legal affairs related to Corporate and Compliance matters, and therefore participating & mitigating the risk management for the Deezer group. As part of a maternity leave replacement, you will join a team of 4 and report directly to the VP, Legal Corporate & Compliance.

What you will do:

 

Corporate/ M&A

  • Legal management of Deezer S.A. and the group's subsidiaries (including preparation of meetings of the board of directors and general meetings of shareholders, social formalities, etc.)

  • Management of the group's insurance policies (including negotiation and renewal of coverage with insurance companies); management of the group's French and foreign lease contracts;

  • Assistance in the preparation of financial reports (in particular the group's annual report) and in legal aspects relating to securities law (in particular, corporate governance and regulatory matters, but also capital market operations, including the issuance of shares) and to business law

  • Support and advise on mergers and acquisitions, conducting due diligence, analyzing and drafting transaction documents, and following post-completion integrations
  • Support and advise on new opportunities to unlock value for Deezer and address business needs by staying up to date on all relevant legal and regulatory developments

Compliance matters

  • Implementation and execution of the compliance program for the Deezer group

  • Management of compliance requests (KYC) from our suppliers

Others

  • Coordination of relations with the team's various external service providers in France and abroad (lawyers, notaries, formalists, translators, etc.)

  • Assistance to other operational teams in the group according to their needs; monitoring management and legal research


Preferred experience

This role is excellent for a person with:

  • Master degree in a Legal related field

  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate law, business law/M&A and/or compliance law (ideally with an experience in a law firm)

  • Autonomous, adaptable, pro-active and curious

  • Fluent in English

  • Ability to adapt to a multicultural, fast-paced strategic environment, varied tasks and internal clients and to work on tight deadlines
  • Highly skilled in writing, drafting, and communicating, with experience in project management 
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with proactive and adaptable behavior, an acute sense of priority and attention to details
  • Ability to take decision and face challenges in cooperation with executive management
  • Ability to communicate in clear and concise manner, both verbally and in written format
  • Adaptable and ready to be onboarded quickly
