At the age of 11, he received his first computer as a birthday gift from his parents and from that moment on, he spent all his free time learning how to code. As a student at Centrale-Supélec, he co-founded his first technology company with two brilliant comrades, Jérémie Chassaing and Eric Bézine. They learned the ups and downs of a start-up the hard way.
Later, they joined the founders of Availpro, a small but promising startup. With success, the platform grew 20 times larger, with 20 times more transactions, data, lines of code, and a team of 50 developers. Antoine learned everything about hyper-growth: the relationship between organisation and architecture, the importance of Domain Driven Design, platform resilience, security issues, legacy management, quality, etc.
In the last two years, the platform has doubled in size through a merger with Fastbooking, Availpro's main competitor. This resulted in the creation of D-EDGE, Europe's leading hotel distribution platform.
As CTO, he ensures the agility of the team: small autonomous teams constantly improving and experimenting. To deliver the best applications, you have to constantly evaluate new frameworks, services, architectures and even languages such as F#. Teams must learn to use the tools that will make a difference in the future.
Antoine is a great pragmatist and supporter of the Lean method: test, measure, learn, improve.
He is also convinced that tech experts should have the same recognition as very good tech managers. They are equally important to build scalable and maintainable quality products.
He is obsessed with continuous improvement. He believes that whatever your level, there is always room for improvement ;)
As a software developer, he applies the principles of software craftmanship to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software. To build working and useful solutions, he likes to be able to work in all the layers of the stack from data to UI. To create, improve and share his creations, he had to dabble in design, communication, sales and translations.
During his journey, he started a company, wrote weekly for a news website with around 100k views monthly, built a dozen of applications with one going above 300k download worldwide, contributed to hundreds of projects including tools, library and more, worked in fintech, and now in hospitality at D-EDGE.
After leaving the hotel management school, Laurence worked for 2 years in a Relais & Châteaux to learn the rigor of luxury, then had the opportunity to arrive in a start-up at the time that became a few years later one of the largest European hotel chain: Hotels & Preference. Laurence went through many positions up to Director of Revenue & Distribution. It ensured that its 150 hotels were well distributed across the many distribution channels, including the GDS.
Passionate about this sales channel, she wanted to bring all her expertise to D-Edge by joining their team in February 2019. For almost 2 years, its mission has been clear and complex at the same time: to ensure the proper development of this product and quickly make it one of the best on the market.
