Our places are fully furnished and equipped, mixing private studios for intimacy and common spaces for sharing. Moving to a new place can be challenging and intimidating: this is why we foster community through regular events and activities.

After raising a €11 million financing round with investors such as Idinvest Partners, Global Founders Capital, Kima Ventures and Financière Saint James, Colonies is accelerating its growth and will start launching developments and operations across Continental European markets with a focus on Germany, Benelux and Switzerland.

Job description


As one of the first members of Colonies German team, you will have a paramount role in the deployment of Colonies housing solution in Germany & Austria. Your mission will be to drive Colonies expansion in this region and meet our ambitious development goals.

You will be responsible to set-up, scale and manage Colonies German real estate development team. You will report directly to Colonies Global Head of Business Development and Colonies founders.


You will create sourcing channels to ensure a continuous flow of development opportunities and create sustainable relationships with local stakeholders (developers, landlords, and brokers) across all locations suited for Colonies development across Germany & Austria. You will develop a strong professional network all across your territories and among real estate professional as well as local authorities.

Opportunity closing:
You will be in charge of analyzing, negotiating and closing development opportunities in order to meet aggressive development objectives while ensuring profitability on each project. In order to do so, you will be assisted by Colonies Architecture & Design, Marketing and HQ development teams.

Project execution:
Working closely with Colonies Architecture and Design Team and Project Managers, you will oversee projects execution in your region and manage relationships with stakeholders until project delivery and opening.

Partnership development:
As one of the key persons of Colonies on the German market, you will be responsible, along with the founders, to develop relationships with key stakeholders (especially investors) in order to sign large-scale development partnerships to fuel our developments and you will speak on behalf of Colonies and be ready to pitch and sell our concept as if it was yours.

This is a Berlin based, full-time position but we could be quite flexible.
You will frequently travel between Berlin, Paris and other German cities.

Preferred experience

You are a driven and rigorous doer, very hands-on in everything you do, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset. You are autonomous.
You have amazing communication skills (both written and oral), you are a dynamic salesperson.
You are a problem solver, creative and organized. You pay a great attention to details.
You are a deal maker but you know how to defend your own & long term interest even in tough negotiations.
You are fluent in German and English, basic French is not on obligation but will be much appreciated.

You have 7+ years’ experience in the Real Estate Sector.
You have excellent knowledge of the German Real Estate sector. You know the stakes of a real estate development from end to end either from a financial, legal or operational point of view and have already worked on various projects.
You have experience managing teams, you show leadership while being a team player.
You have a deep understanding and faith in Colonies’ potential and perfectly understand the value our product brings to tenants.
