Job description

As a Senior Rails Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building the features that position CoderPad as the best tool for assessing technical talent. Your work will impact the user experience of candidates and interviewers alike and push our product forward so CoderPad can lead the way in improving the technical hiring process.

You’ll spend your time working on problems that affect your engineering peers around the world. To be successful, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, User Researchers, and a world-class engineering team to determine the most impactful problems to solve, define project plans, and execute on them to delight CoderPad’s customers.

You bring an iterative mindset, a deep knowledge of running production Ruby on Rails apps, and a love for tackling big challenges - and we can’t wait to meet you! This role reports to the VP of Engineering based in US.

Sample Projects

  • Workflow improvements that make interviewing easier and more standardized, thus reducing bias inherent in most hiring processes
  • Extending the functionality of our product to meet the needs of more specific hiring use cases, like front-end and data science interviewing
  • Enhancing the onboarding experience of new customers, addressing product education and driving users towards an activation metric
  • Invoicing and Subscription management, Pricing and Packaging improvements, and Feature Gating
  • Providing mentorship for other engineers

  • 5-8+ years of professional programming experience
  • 4 years of professional experience working on production Ruby on Rails apps
  • Proficiency with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a distributed environment, making pragmatic architectural decisions and maintaining high engineering standards
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations
  • Collaborating with product and design teams on the standards for end-user experience excellence

Work environment/Compensation

  • Strong company culture and values
  • Flexible and collaborative management
  • You’ll work closely with experienced tech people and who will coach you and develop your skill set
  • Cool perks (health insurance, corporate concierge, winter/summer adventure retreats, afterworks, and… the sea is only 12km away from the office!)
