As a Finance Officer, you will design and manage projects that promote sustainable farming practices, engage local communities, and restore ecosystems. This role requires integrity and a collaborative mindset to engage with internal and external stakeholders, driving impactful projects that restore farming and natural ecosystems.
As a member of a Finance team of 4 and under the supervision of Head of Finance – Climate projects, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of some of our climate projects, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role involves budget management, financial analysis, and coordination with project team and stakeholders to ensure the successful financial management of the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Management:
Develop and administer annual budgets and ensure financial management of approximately 10 projects.
Analyze finances and supervise project accounts, including expenditure records.
Monitor payments through cash flow and monthly bank reconciliations.
Manage financial aspects and relationships with banks, project developers, and service providers.
Participate in project design to build solid business plans and budgets with the project team.
2. Financial Reporting:
Prepare and provide all relevant finance project reports to the project team.
Prepare financial statements, budgets, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Prepare documents and meetings for management bodies and instances both of the fund and the projects (Board of Directors, Investment Committees, General Assemblies, Steerco, etc.).
3. Compliance and Audit:
Manage financial audits and relationships with regulators related to the projects in your portfolio.
Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulations.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
4. Contract Management:
Support the development and management of project contracts and financial annexes with the legal and project teams.
Manage physical verification, distribution, and electronic inventory of all assets, including carbon credits.
Ensure compliance with procedures and procurement policies.
5. Administrative Support:
Maintain records of technical and financial aspects of the project, including monitoring project activities and outcomes.
Follow up on governance, drafting minutes, etc., for management committees, boards of directors, and General Assemblies.
Actively support the Transformation workstream (policies/procedures, project management process) and Management Information System.
6. Collaboration:
Communicate with the finance/project team and address issues or alerts affecting process execution, delivery, and performance.
Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education: master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field.
Experience: at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in managing large and medium scale financial projects, including fund and investor Management, and Project Management Control
Languages: fluent in French and English (Spanish is a plus).
KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
Financial Acumen: deep understanding of financial principles, fund finance, investment accounting, and compliance principles
Analytical Skills: ability to develop and monitor analytical budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and strategic alignment
Regulatory Knowledge: strong understanding of regulatory requirements (France, Luxembourg) and the ability to coordinate with external audit partners
Project Management: experience in managing financial operations, including fund investments, contract compliance, and budget tracking
Technical Proficiency: familiarity with financial tools and software such as Yooz for invoicing and payments, Microsoft office, potentially ERP systems for automation
Communication Skills: ability to prepare governance and management documents, including Board of Directors and General Assembly meetings
Attention to Detail: meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance

Location: based in Paris, France, with flexible work-from-home policy.
Compensation: competitive salary package, commensurate with experience.
Travel Requirement: willing to travel 1-3 times a year for field visits, audit missions, and interactions with Livelihoods teams and partners.
