The story begins in 1897 when Marcel Mérieux, a student of Louis Pasteur, founded Institut Mérieux. In 1937, Dr. Charles Mérieux took over the reins of Institut Mérieux. bioMérieux was founded in 1963 by Alain Mérieux and, since 2017, Alexandre Mérieux became Chairman and CEO. At bioMérieux, we design, develop and manufacture diagnostic solutions (instruments, reagents, software and services) for healthcare professionals and industry players to make confident decisions to improve patient outcomes and ensure consumer safety.

The objective of these Academies is to ensure that employees' skills are enhanced, to anticipate the skills of tomorrow and to spread a common culture.
