The position

Job description

As a Compliance Manager of health insurance/reinsurance companies based in France and part of a global international structure, you will have strategic, operational and regulatory responsibility for the companies’ compliance program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and contributing to the overall management of regulatory and compliance risks.

Detailed responsibilities:

1. Compliance Strategy and Governance:

  • Define, implement and evolve the compliance strategy in line with the company's overall strategy.
  • Ensure the governance of the compliance function
  • Design an implement internal policies, procedures, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the implementation of an effective internal control system.

2. Advise Business

  • Support and advise the business lines, in particular, to carry out the compliance analysis of subscriptions

3. Regulatory monitoring

  • Carry out a continuous regulatory watch on all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze the impacts of regulatory changes on the companies and propose action plans for their application.

4. Regulatory Risk

  • Identify, assess and monitor compliance risks.
  • Implement action plans to reduce these risks.
  • Oversee internal and external audits related to compliance.
  • Manage incidents of non-compliance and coordinate their handling.

5. Implementation and monitoring of internal control systems

  • Develop and maintain a permanent compliance monitoring system.
  • Oversee the conduct of internal audits and compliance of business processes.

6. Training and awareness

  • Develop and lead training programs to raise compliance awareness among all employees.
  • Ensure the spread of a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

7. Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare regular reports to the Executive Management, the Board of Directors and the Compliance Committees.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication around regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Ensure the quality and relevance of regulatory reportings (i.e., ACPR, Group Compliance).

8. Management of 3 FTEs


Preferred experience

  • Education: Advanced degree in law, management, insurance or equivalent (Master's, MBA, Doctorate).
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of significant experience in a similar position, ideally in the insurance or regulated finance sector.
  • Technical knowledge:
  • Regulatory environment, standards (Financial Crime, Consumer protection).
  • Risk management, governance and internal control.
  • Skills:
  • Fluent in English.
  • Project management, sense of prioritization, rigor.
  • Strategic sense coupled with a strong operational capacity.
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and manage regulatory issues.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams.
  • Pedagogical spirit for training and awareness.
  • Leadership and ability to unite around compliance projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team spirit and leadership.
  • Ability to influence and convince.
