Within the Group, you will join the Group Ceded Re department which oversees AXA Group Reinsurance.

Within this Department, you will be part of the Reinsurance Reserving team that is responsible of technical reserve calculation for a portfolio of major life and non-life risks from AXA Group entities. Reserving enables to anticipate and cover future claims arising from reinsurance treaties underwritten by AXA SA. Technical reserves must be estimated as accurately as possible based on information on claims, and in particular their development between various phases: occurrence, declaration, payments, and closure.

About the Reinsurance Reserving Team: the Team is composed of 5 actuaries of Institut des Actuaires with 2 to 10 years of experience and of different cultures.

Your job and daily missions:

This apprenticeship is an opportunity to apply and improve your knowledge of statistics, modeling, data analysis, reinsurance, and reserving.

With the help of the apprenticeship tutor, the apprentice will implement new models and tools to enable the AXA Group's reinsurance to be properly modeled and monitored.

Dimension, context and major challenges:

AXA Group has developed its own risk modeling tools for its SCR calculation and the Group Ceded Re reserving team is responsible for the calculation of the reserve SCR, nevertheless, due to its reinsurance activity the SCR calculation and backtesting are more challenging compared to direct insurance. In this context, the apprentice will have to improve the backtests related to the reserve SCR calculation and will also work on the reserve SCR calculation methodology.

Key accountabilities:

SCR backtesting and calculation methodology need to be improved with the implementation of new tools.
