Within the Insurance innovation team, we develop insurance solutions for Agriculture and Forests to address the climate hazards that these activities are facing. The insurance programs that we support are based on our climate expertise and understanding of the risks and challenges of these sectors.
We are recruiting a 4-6 months intern to support the team with risk analysis.
Development of our data capabilities:
Processing and leveraging public data (e.g., Land Parcel Identification System) to build a geolocated database of agricultural land in France (extraction and analysis of shapefiles)
Development of analytical tools: participation in the creation of a Python package dedicated to the study of agricultural yields
Agriculture risk assessments:
Mapping and analysis of crops in France and Europe: description of production chains, historical data on yields and production volumes by region, and identification of current and emerging risks
Agricultural risk assessments: contribution to the risk analysis of our insurance programs. Prospective risk impact studies (e.g., implementation of cover crops)
Literature review and synthesis on regenerative agriculture: state-of-the-art analysis of main approaches, assessment of their benefits, and barriers to adoption
Forest products development:
Wildfire: working on new satellite data sources to improve burn areas assessments
Drought on saplings: development of our drought models for tree plantations
Curious, proactive and solutions oriented. At ease with autonomous and collaborative work
Good English is required
Grandes écoles d’ingénieurs (X, CentraleSupélec, AgroParisTech, ENSAE, Mines, Ponts, ENSTA, etc) or top universities (Cambridge, ETH Zurich, etc)
Knowledge or proven interest in Climate, Agriculture or Nature. Eager to learn about insurance
