Reporting to the Aerodynamics Manager of the Experimental Design Bureau, the Aerothermal and Internal Aerodynamics Engineer M/F will be in charge of the inlet/outlet/cooling design and aerothermal studies of different aircraft, from the two-seater electrical one (integral-E) to the nineteen-seater hybrid one (ERA). 
Your main tasks will be the following: 

  • To design aero-thermodynamics systems (i.e., internal/external aerodynamics of aircraft components with heat  transfer).
  • To perform CFD simulations of the aero-thermal designs (includes CAD generation).
  • To develop aero-thermodynamic models of aircraft components.
  • To comply with certification requirements.
  • To participate in wind tunnel testing campaigns.
  • To participate in the design of innovative aero-thermal systems with energy recovery.
  • To interact with other design teams in order to consider all the interdisciplinary constraints (performance, battery system, structure, …).
  • To monitor technological developments  to identify emerging technologies.

Preferred experience

Required profile 🕵️‍♂️
With a degree in aeronautical engineering (BAC + 5) with an orientation to aero-thermodynamics and heat-transfer, you have at least 5 years experience in CFD simulation and aerothermal design and analysis of internal components (battery pack, heat exchangers, air inlets, etc.). You know how to anticipate industry trends, to prepare the aircraft of the future.
Your key assets for this position are the following: 

  • Strong knowledge of internal/external aerodynamic devices with heat transfer used in aviation and automotive applications.
  • Experience in aircraft/car thermal management system design process.
  • Very solid understanding of the physical aspects behind aerodynamics and heat transfer phenomena.
  • Strong experience with CFD. 
  • Advanced knowledge of 1D modelisation (Matlab simulink or Simcenter Amesim)
