The position

Job description

As our first dedicated legal hire, you will be responsible for bringing our legal function in-house. As part of your role, you’ll be working closely with people across the company as well as a network of external advisors. Your responsibilities will cover:

1- Business Affairs:

  • Manage our T&C across our different geographies to ensure we are compliant with local regulations: work with our Product & Tech team to implement required changes identified as part of your work
  • Support our business team by providing them with legal advices & documentation (Commercial contracts, NDA, Advice on Payment Terms questions etc.)
  • Review products, features, and initiatives to provide advice consistent with legal and regulatory obligations of Ankorstore in multiple jurisdictions

2- Corporate:

  • Manage corporate legal matters (General Assembly, Stock Options Plan, fundraising support, Board minutes)
  • Oversee all legal aspects of expanding in new countries by liaising with local legal counsels for the incorporation of new entities

3- Privacy:

  • As DPO you will set up internal data protection policy and help us improve our management of potentially sensitive information
  • Ensure the company’s policy is in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

4- IP:

  • Manage copywriting and image rights topics for the company
  • Legal Department Infrastructure:
  • Build a scalable legal infrastructure & team to cover our legal needs across geographies as we expand the business across Europe

Preferred experience

The experience we require:

  • You have at least 7 years of experience in a legal role
  • Strong academic credentials and master’s in French or European law
  • Your work experience includes legal support to a tech company in a multitude of jurisdictions in Europe with a focus on business law matters
  • You are a fluent in English & French (mandatory)

  • Ability to provide pragmatic, simple, and business-oriented legal advice under tight timeframes
  • Strong management skills (both of external partners and employees)
