The position

Job description

We are seeking an experienced freelancer to oversee, maintain, and optimize our YouTube CMS (Content Management System) across multiple accounts. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in YouTube Content ID, rights management, and digital asset organization. The successful candidate will ensure our content library is well-structured, compliant, and ready to maximize monetization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

CMS Health & Maintenance:

  • Execute a complete audit of the current state of each CMS, mapping and fixing all issues and resolving dashboard flags.

  • Implement a CMS health check, identifying key potential long-term issues regarding asset label structure, reference files, and claiming.

  • Audit assets across 3 CMSs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with policies.

Asset Management:

  • Collaborate with the channel team to establish a consistent asset label and custom ID structure.

  • Apply new labels and custom IDs to all assets.

  • Review and update existing asset titles for accuracy and consistency.

Reference File Management:

  • Audit current reference files to assess what has been ingested into Content ID and what remains outstanding.

  • Ingest new reference files into the CMS.

  • Ensure reference files are correctly linked to corresponding assets.

Content Organization & Library Development:

  • Build and maintain a structured content library categorized by themes (e.g., Halloween, Christmas, pets, recurring characters).

Support the channel management team by making assets easy to locate for compilations and theme-based programming.


Preferred experience

  • Proven experience in YouTube Rights Management and Content ID.

  • Strong working knowledge of YouTube CMS tools, rights, and policies.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and auditing skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with content and channel management teams.

  • Familiarity with digital rights management, copyright compliance, and metadata best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be YouTube Certified

  • Knowledge of media asset management systems beyond YouTube.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to present clear reports/findings.
