My core job is to develop the machine learning part of our product, which includes Integrations with the MLOps ecosystem, incorporation of new data types (like Computer Vision and Time Series), and researching new quality and statistical metrics. Moreover, I write articles on the interface between explainability, ethics, and machine learning. Coming from a theoretical particle physics background, I started to appreciate the importance of the user experience and the business value of my work at Giskard. I became more structured in writing code and a proponent of ethical and responsible AI.
Becoming an expert in software development and machine learning is challenging. We ensure that every team member feels comfortable in the domain of AI quality control. From the first day at Giskard, employees go through business and technical onboarding and then continue learning with the help of our mentors and participating in conferences. Learning on your own is something we also allocate time for.
Being an open-source product, we promote openness and asynchronous communication to allow all team members to participate in the decision-making. We conduct regular company-wide updates to ensure everyone aligns with the global goals. At the same time, feature development meetings are held weekly to resolve blockers.
