Past and future
Datafolio was born in 2020 from the idea of a seasoned insurer, Yuri, former CEO of Groupama in China and Italy. The company is an insurtech startup that distributes an innovative insurance solution: usage-based and priced solely according to driving behaviors and km driven. In February 2022, Datafolio successfully concluded a seed investment round, raising €4,3m thanks to prominent business angels who decided to trust the company’s project. Despite the company was born in France, Yuri's experience in Italy, positioned the country as the clear frontrunner to spearhead the distribution of the company's insurance solution. Datafolio recently expanded its operations in Spain and will soon reach the French market.

Datafolio wants to fundamentally change the way people insure themselves against mobility-related risks (personal injury, third-party damage, vehicle damage, etc.) to make insurance fairer and closer to consumers' needs (usage-based, multi-vehicle, etc.). To pursue this goal Datafolio wants to promote two main values, inclusiveness and sustainability.
By being embedded into shared mobility services and being billed on a usage basis, with just a few cents users are entitled to a personal accident and assistance service for a fraction of the cost of traditional insurance. Regardless of the vehicle driven, all users are covered at any time. Furthermore, Datafolio believes that the future of mobility is green and developed its business to actively contribute to make this vision a reality. As a result, the company has chosen to collaborate with sharing platforms and micro-mobility operators, main actors of the new, green mobility.
Providing an insurance for all drivers, at an affordable cost, the insurance is tied to the person and not the vehicle, enabling the users of sharing platforms to drive safely.
