Back Market has received the B Corp label. But what does this B Corp label really mean for Back Market, and for you, as a Back Market customer? We'll shed some light.
Good news: we've officially joined the list of companies with a positive impact (like Patagonia and Naturalia in particular) by obtaining the B Corp label. This label attests that social, societal, and environmental issues are at the heart of our development. It must be said that at Back Market, these objectives have already been anchored in our daily lives for some time. But now, this label commits us (legally, it's serious.) to also preserving them in the future. Which we will do with great pleasure.
The B Corp label, awarded by an independent organization to companies “ that take a long-term view, respect people and the planet, and know how to serve the common good. ” To earn this label, companies must undergo a rigorous audit that examines all aspects of their business, from their environmental and social impact to their business practices. Fortunately for us, it was mainly a matter of formalizing practices that already exist at Back Market.
C, D, and E, of course. Because this label is just one more step in our endless journey to bring more sustainability to the tech world. Let's be honest, a business practice will never be truly “sustainable” if it doesn't take into account the broader impact of its business. (Such as employee well-being, respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion, or good customer relationship management.)
