About Taster

Food delivery has fundamentally changed the way we eat, and consumers are now demanding a five-star experience at home.

Taster is Europe’s leading digital restaurant builder, creating iconic food that is designed to be delivered. We team up with world-class food creators to build blockbuster delivery brands, and we distribute them to consumers via our network of tech-enabled franchise partners across five countries.

With 10x growth over the last four years and backed by top-tier VCs, Taster is taking over the food delivery market. We aim high - and have expectations to match! If you’re looking for a comfortable ride, Taster’s not for you. But if you want to push yourself to new heights, you’ll join a team full of incredibly talented, determined individuals working together to challenge the status quo - all powered by amazing food, of course.

The role

Taster is looking for a Finance Manager to join the Paris team, reporting to the Group Financial Controller.

As part of a core accounting team of five, you will manage the day-to-day accounting and finance operations in Europe, including preparing monthly management accounts, improving the financial controls environment and managing day-to-day finance operations including invoicing & customer payments.

Taster moves fast and so will you, continually improving our processes to stay ahead of the changes. In your core role, you will use your strong technical background to ensure we produce robust accounts quickly, but you'll also have the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial issues as we rapidly expand our operations across Europe.

Your responsibilities

  • With the accounting team, prepare the Group & subsidiary management accounts.
  • Manage the fortnightly invoicing & payment cycle with our kitchen partners.
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations in France, working closely with other teams across the business. This may involve negotiating better payment terms with suppliers, working with our technical team to improve our bespoke invoicing software, or providing financial support to our kitchen partners.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller to manage & improve financial controls across the business.
  • Improve the purchase-to-pay cycle including approvals, controls and reporting to ensure strong governance, cost control and cash management.
  • Support with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, preparing and reconciling year-end adjustments and liaising with accountants and auditors.
  • Manage and supervise one direct report in Paris.
  • Act as the financial lead for key European business opportunities and initiatives, for example liaising with specialist advisors on new territory launches.

About you

  • You have at least seven years experience, ideally combining a background in a Big 4 firm with experience in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
  • You have strong technical skills and a good eye for detail. You know what good looks like and how to achieve it.
  • Strong systems experience is highly desirable, for example managing the implementation of new software within the finance team.
  • You have strong process improvement experience, ensuring processes are automated and remain fit-for-purpose in a fast-moving environment.
  • You enjoy getting the best out of your team, and helping them achieve their goals.
  • You speak excellent professional English so that you can communicate with the UK-based team on a daily basis.

What Taster can offer you

  • A competitive salary with quarterly bonuses and BSPCE options;
  • A flexible hybrid work environment: split your time between our beautiful office in the 9th arrondissement and home;
  • A sociable team with regular team events
  • Great benefits, including access to our Alan health insurance scheme, a Swile meal voucher card, and your choice between a Macbook and PC; and
  • The opportunity to build your career within a dynamic environment, surrounded by a cross-border team of industry veterans and food aficionados.

Diversity & Inclusion

At Taster we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating a welcoming workplace that is inspiring for everyone. To facilitate this, we actively promote a culture of inclusivity and encourage those from all backgrounds and life-paths to apply for opportunities with us.

Part of this commitment includes anonymised CV screening, meaning that your name and gender will be hidden from the person initially reviewing your application to ensure you are being screened based only on your credentials and experience.

When you apply, you'll hear from a member of the People team regarding the status of your application. We can help you with any needs or adjustments you might require throughout the recruitment process; so if you have any specific needs, please let us know.
