Descriptif du poste

Combo is looking to hire a new Analytics Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with Adam, our Data Lead, to define and build data solutions that best meet our business needs.

We’re a small team, so you will have a significant impact and high visibility across the company. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with all business units, from our acquisition teams (Marketing and Sales) to our growth and retention teams (Product & Customer Success Management). Additionally, you will be a key partner to the Operations and Finance teams, working hand in hand to provide insights, streamline internal processes, and deliver metrics to drive the business forward.

The core of our stack is around Google Cloud Platform, including our data warehouse BigQuery and several key Cloud Functions. We ingest data into BigQuery using a variety of ETL tools (Stitch, Airbyte, Datastream, Fivetran), where it is then transformed using dbt. Most of our business users access this data through Looker Studio, Metabase, Google Sheets, or ThoughtSpot. We also use Segment and Hightouch as our reverse-ETL tools to feed data back into operational teams like our CRM (Salesforce)

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and evolve our dbt models to meet the growing needs of the business, ensuring smooth operation of our data jobs

  • Collaborate with the Operations, Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Tech teams to understand their data requirements and translate these into technical solutions.

  • Design and implement data products, such as dashboards and automations, to support business processes and decisions

  • Innovate by integrating new technologies and methodologies to enhance the team’s data capabilities

  • Continuously improve our data structures

  • Catalog and document various aspects of our data ecosystem, including business entities, data marts, dimensions, metrics, and business rules, to ensure clarity and accessibility

  • Implement and maintain data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure accuracy and consistency across our datasets.

Profil recherché

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Data Analytics, within a Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering role

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with extensive experience in data modeling and understanding of data warehousing concepts

  • Comprehensive knowledge of dbt, including its semantic layer; dbt holds no secrets for you

  • Hands-on experience in building and managing analytics pipelines, demonstrating a practical understanding of the entire data lifecycle

  • Comfortable working in a cloud environment, with a preference for GCP, and extensive experience with a cloud data warehouse, preferably BigQuery

  • Proficiency in a programming or scripting language, with a preference for Python, showcasing the ability to automate tasks and manipulate data efficiently

  • A proactive approach to technical exploration, with a strong interest in implementing new technologies and innovative solutions, including prototyping

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outputs

  • Strong team player, actively contributing to continuous improvement and fostering effective collaboration
