Yakeey is a fast‑growing PropTech company headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco.  Our mission is to simplify and accelerate real‑estate transactions by connecting buyers, sellers, renters and agents through a single digital platform.  Yakeey operates a multi‑product portfolio that includes a property marketplace, a credit application and processing platform and a valuation tool.  The marketplace front‑end is built with Next.js and modern mobile frameworks, while the back‑end relies on a Java/Spring‑Boot micro‑services architecture running on Kubernetes in AWS.  Yakeey’s engineering culture emphasises DevOps, automation, observability and reuse of shared components across products.

Role Summary

As Head of Engineering – Marketplace, you will lead all engineering efforts for our B2C marketplace and B2B agent tools.  Reporting to the CTO and working closely with the Head of Product, you will manage three Tech Leads and their teams (~12 developers), ensuring that our engineering organisation delivers high‑quality software quickly and consistently.  You will champion best practices, support your leads in both technical and people management, and coordinate with other verticals (credit and valuation) to deliver a seamless one‑stop‑shop experience for users.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire three cross‑functional product teams focused on the marketplace, providing mentorship and day‑to‑day guidance on technical, project and management topics.

• Drive execution of the product roadmap by coordinating planning, development and release activities; ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality or security.

• Ensure engineering excellence by enforcing high standards for code quality, automated testing and observability; champion DevOps and continuous delivery practices.

• Maintain technical direction aligned with Yakeey’s architecture and global vision—micro‑services on Java/Spring Boot with React/Next.js front‑ends, Kubernetes on AWS and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform).

• Collaborate across verticals with credit and valuation engineering teams to reuse business logic and shared services, implement unified authentication and authorization mechanisms, and support cross‑product features like lead generation.

• Partner with product leadership to define scope, prioritise features and translate business goals into technical requirements.

• Represent the marketplace engineering function to senior management—report progress, identify risks and plan mitigation strategies.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging refactoring, documentation and knowledge sharing; contribute to defining long‑term technical vision and hiring strategy.

• Curiosity for next‑generation AI technologies – Demonstrated interest in or experience with intelligent agents, large language models (LLMs), Model Context Protocol (MCP) and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) architectures.  A “geek” mindset that enjoys exploring and experimenting with emerging AI tools and applying them in practical scenarios.

• Passionate software engineering professional with solid management experience and a proven track record of successful projects.

• Proven track record of delivering scalable, high‑availability platforms using micro‑services and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform).

• Hands‑on experience with Java/Spring Boot back‑ends and modern front‑end frameworks such as ReactJS/Next.js and React Native/Flutter.

• Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab), automated testing and observability tools (ELK, Grafana).

• Ability to manage cross‑functional teams and collaborate with product, data and operations.

• Strong communication skills in English; French or Arabic proficiency is a plus.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field in an advantage.

• Experience in marketplace, fintech or real‑estate domains is an advantage.
