With millions of users and offices in both Paris and New York City, WeWard is growing fast, and we’re now looking to internalize our Legal & Compliance function to support our expansion.
Reporting to Yves, our CEO & Co-founder, and working closely with Nathalie, our Finance & Admin Manager, you will play a key strategic role in managing all legal topics related to our business in France, the US, and beyond.
As our first in-house legal hire, you’ll be building legal processes from the ground up, supporting every team at WeWard, from HR and P&L to Tech and Product, all while helping us stay compliant in a fast-paced, international environment.
📝 Commercial & Contract Law
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts (partnerships, suppliers, marketing, regulatory, etc.)
Define and maintain our contract templates and approval workflows
Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure deals are legally sound and aligned with business needs
🛍️ Consumer Law & Compliance
Draft and maintain our Terms & Conditions, privacy policies, promotional rules, and legal disclaimers
Review marketing and communication campaigns for legal compliance (especially in the context of loyalty, rewards, and promotional offers)
Stay up to date with consumer regulations in both France and the US
🔐 Privacy & Data Protection (GDPR & beyond)
Own all topics related to data privacy and GDPR compliance
Negotiate Data Protection Agreements, conduct DPIAs, and help document data flows across our products
Work cross-functionally with Product, Data, Tech and P&L to ensure privacy is embedded into everything we do
🌍 Corporate & International
Liaise with external counsel in the US to coordinate legal topics across our French and American entities
Provide occasional support on corporate legal matters (board meetings, governance, employee stock plans, etc.)
🧩 Company-wide Legal Support
Act as the go-to legal contact for all teams, simplifying legal concepts to make them actionable
Monitor potential litigation or disputes and handle debt recovery if needed
Keep an eye on global legal and regulatory developments relevant to our activities
Master’s degree in Business Law, Contract Law, or related field
Bar-certified in France; New York Bar admission is a strong plus
3–6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal team, with exposure to B2C, data protection, and international business
Solid understanding of the legal challenges facing tech companies and mobile apps
Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken
Curious, pragmatic, autonomous, and ready to get your hands dirty in a fast-moving environment
