Job description

THE ROLE

Pure Storage is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Manager of International Revenue & AR Accounting to oversee key aspects of international revenue operations, accounting policy application, compliance, and statutory reporting. This role reports to the Director of International Revenue and AR Accounting and plays a critical role within the Order to Cash organization, ensuring operational excellence and accuracy across global revenue functions.

As the senior manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of revenue and AR accounting activities across multiple regions. You will partner with cross-functional teams to assess deal structures, apply ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, support audits, and drive process improvement and automation. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and a proactive mindset toward innovation and efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Global Deal & GTM Advisory

  • Key liaison between Accounting and international sales, legal, deal desk, and operations teams to evaluate deal structures, ensuring accounting compliance under ASC 606 and regional requirements.
  • Provide accounting guidance on new business models, product offerings, and multi-element arrangements.
  • Support deal monetization and go-to-market strategies by aligning accounting considerations with commercial objectives and operational efficiency.

Technical Accounting & Policy

  • Apply technical accounting guidance in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Pure Storage’s global revenue policies.
  • Research emerging accounting issues, draft technical memos, and support reviews with internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain and help refine international revenue policies for consistency, scalability, and alignment with business evolution.
  • Assist in integrating acquired entities and evaluating their revenue recognition policies.

Revenue & AR Accounting

  • Deep understanding of ASC 606 and Company policy. Leads reviews, supports policy updates and coordinates with auditor discussions.
  • Manage international revenue close and AR processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Work with regional controllership and operations teams to ensure compliance, reconciliations, and quality in transaction processing.
  • Support intercompany revenue transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations.
  • Maintain internal controls over financial reporting and support the enhancement of existing control frameworks.

Close & Reporting

  • Drive monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, ensuring accuracy in revenue and deferred revenue reporting.
  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, and Corporate Accounting to provide forecasts for deferred revenue, RPO, and cash collections.
  • Contribute to revenue analytics, reporting, and insights to support business decision-making.

SOX & Statutory Audit Support

  • Support the execution and documentation of SOX controls related to revenue and AR accounting.
  • Coordinate audit requests and provide revenue-related documentation to internal and external auditors.
  • Partner with regional teams to prepare supporting schedules and documentation for statutory audits.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals responsible for international revenue and AR activities.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and career development while fostering a culture of collaboration, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and drive automation within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with U.S. Revenue, FP&A, and Global Process Owner (GPO) teams to ensure consistent global execution.

AI & Automation Enablement

  • Support the implementation of AI and automation technologies to improve efficiency in revenue recognition, contract review, and reporting workflows.
  • Collaborate with IT and Finance Systems to enhance forecasting and analytics capabilities using AI-powered tools.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for compliance monitoring, anomaly detection, and process automation.
  • Encourage adoption of digital tools and promote a data-driven mindset across the international revenue accounting function.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; CPA or international equivalent preferred.
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and corporate revenue accounting roles.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606, SaaS, hardware, and hybrid revenue models.
  • Solid knowledge of international accounting principles, statutory reporting, and multi-entity consolidation.
  • Experience leading or supervising global or regional accounting teams in a high-growth technology environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite and tools like Zuora and Salesforce (SFDC); strong reporting and automation skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in finance to enhance forecasting, reconciliation, and anomaly detection.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across finance, operations, and IT functions.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Dublin, Staines or Prague office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
