The position

Job description

Natixis is seeking a VIE intern to assist our US CLO Banking Team in New York. The CLO Banking team operates within the Securitized Product Group (SPG), a vital part of the Fixed Income/Global Markets division of Investment Banking. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support complex financial transactions and collaborate with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Gain familiarity with CLO modeling activities for new issues, refinancings, and resets.
  • Draft internal credit committee and other approval memos.
  • Understand the needs of and coordinate interactions with third parties, including rating agencies and legal counsel.
  • Assist in the creation / updating of client presentations.
  • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc presentations for senior management.
  • Create quantitative and functional information systems and detailed financial models for analyzing structured credit transactions and managing execution processes
  • Learn the essentials of CLO transactions, including analyzing capital structures, conducting investor analyses, testing rating agency criteria, and reviewing transaction and offering documents.
  • Analyze market and industry trends, along with historical performance, to inform structuring decisions.

The VIE will work closely with and benefit from the mentoring of senior CLO Bankers.


Preferred experience

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, with demonstrated academic excellence. We are looking for a strong team player who is self-motivated and can work independently while recognizing when to engage team members. A high degree of integrity and a robust work ethic is essential. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required, and familiarity with coding (Python, VBA, SQL) and financial modeling is highly valued. The candidate should have strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as solid verbal and written communication skills. This includes the ability to convey thoughts clearly and succinctly, as well as to communicate complex information in a clear and organized manner. Finally, a willingness and ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment is important.
