Job description

For over a century, L’Oréal has been convinced that beauty needs Science. Within Research & Innovation (R&I), the L’Oréal For The Future & Green Sciences division is on a mission to transform this vision into a sustainable reality.

We are looking for a Sustainability Strategic Coordination Manager of Impact Assessment for the ingredients, raw materials, and bio-resources scope. Your role is to ensure the methodological consistency of our portfolio’s environmental footprint by managing data and contributing to the evolution of our assessment frameworks to meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges (Climate, Water, Biodiversity).

A Day in the Life:

Reporting to the head of the “Environmental Impact Assessment” team, the successful candidate will be the coordinator for the environmental impact assessment strategy (SPOT) of our ingredients, including the carbon dimension, where consistency with the PCF (Product Carbon Footprint) approach must be ensured. One of your main missions will be to structure our environmental impact analysis capabilities, ensuring fluid coordination between external experts and internal teams to guarantee that our decisions are data-driven and aligned with our strategic priorities.

Key Missions:

  • Management of external partnership & LCA Expertise: Coordinate internal Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies and support external studies. Guarantee the availability and quality of the data required to meet business challenges.
  • Data Structuring & Analysis: Contribute to the definition and implementation of tools and frameworks for structuring SPOT and PCF data, in line with existing initiatives, to transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Strategy & Prioritization: Proactively propose coordination and analysis prioritization strategies. Ensure consistency between committed resources and the team’s priority objectives.
  • Transversal Leadership: Act as an ambassador for these topics with our stakeholders. Deliver key messages, understand needs, and leverage internal and external expertise to address challenges.

Candidate Profile:
  • Mindset: Strong leadership and the ability to navigate independently with stakeholders from other entities. Strong synthesis skills and the ability to provide structure in uncertain environments.
  • Understanding of Challenges: Knowledge of the organization; familiarity with our products and formulation is a plus to better understand the different pillars of sustainability within our context.
  • Skills: Comfortable with “tools and data” dimensions.
  • Sustainability: A background or training in sustainability is a plus, but we are primarily looking for someone ready to invest themselves and train in LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and carbon methodologies.
