JOB SUMMARY

Within the strategic Olfactive Market Intelligence and Fragrance Valorization department, the Fragrance Valorization & Storytelling Leader plays a pivotal role in elevating L’Oréal’s olfactive excellence. This is achieved by forging a differentiating, highly desirable fragrance storytelling and fostering innovative claim development, all while rigorously ensuring the sincerity, integrity and compliance of all fragrance claims across every communication asset.

As Fragrance Valorization Leader, you will be an essential brand partner and the driving force behind translating market knowledge and innovative insights into impactful olfactive narratives and robust claim strategies. Combining sharp market knowledge and a proactive innovative mindset, you have a unique ability to craft compelling stories, underpinned by rigorous attention to claim compliance and a keen understanding of regulatory and mediatic risks.

You will lead and develop the fragrance valorization team, overseeing the execution and achievement of 4 key objectives:

  1. Market Tracking & knowledge
  2. Claim Research & Innovation
  3. Communication on fragrance ingredients & innovation programs
  4. Story telling on fragrances launches


UNDER YOUR STRATEGIC DIRECTION AND GUIDANCE, YOUR TEAM WILL COLLECTIVELY DRIVE THE FOLLOWING MAIN MISSIONS:

  1. FOR MARKET TRACKING & KNOWLEDGE, YOUR MAIN MISSIONS WILL INCLUDE:


  • Set up a strategic competitive intelligence tracker of the perfume industry in terms of storytelling trends, innovation & claims
  • Develop inspiration content on Fragrance narratives, storytelling & claims to unlock strong value opportunities for fragrance brands.
  • Lead knowledge sharing & conduct activation workshops with brands


  1. FOR CLAIM RESEARCH & INNOVATION, YOUR MAIN MISSIONS WILL INCLUDE:


  • Be a driving force of claim innovation through coordinating claim taskforces
  • Contribute to co-develop new evaluation methods & partnerships to support new claim territories
  • Define technical elements & regulatory guidelines to support new fragrance claims, interact with SRC (Safety, regulatory & claim) & Global Scientific directions to ensure claim compliance
  • Coordinate consumer, sensory & scientific tests to support claim innovation & validation
  • Develop one page position papers on new claims & scientific territories


  1. FOR VALORIZATION OF FRAGRANCE INNOVATION, YOUR MAIN MISSIONS WILL INCLUDE:


  • Build & deploy the communication - branding, messaging, and promotion - of L’Oréal ingredient programs, innovations & partnerships.
  • Develop communication kits on L’Oréal innovations for marketing/brands/group, including the following elements:
  • Name of the innovation
  • Innovation story books , with all information & messaging related to the innovation
  • Photos & video production (including shooting if needed)
  • Sharing platform & tools
  • Build regulatory dossier with claims attestations to support the claims, interact with SRC & Global Scientific directions to ensure claim compliance
  • Support internal and external communication of fragrance ingredients: upskilling initiatives, events and media communication plans of L’Oréal group and brands.


  1. FOR STORY TELLING ON FRAGRANCE LAUNCHES , YOUR MAIN MISSIONS WILL INCLUDE:


  • Develop aspirational fragrance storytelling content & impactful claims to highlight fragrances, innovation, ingredients, and push desirable & differentiating storytelling on key launches
  • Be a driving force for claim innovation on strategic fragrance projects, organize claim workshops with your brand partners, and all relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate consumer& sensory tests to support claim validation
  • Ensure & pilot brands claim securization & compliance for all fine fragrance launches within your brand scope : evaluate & communicate risks to brands, build regulatory dossiers to support the claims, interact with SRC (Scientific & Regulatory Compliance/Affairs) to secure 100% of fragrance communication assets & artworks of your brand scope


PROFIL & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Fluent in English is a must.
  • Extensive knowledge of the fragrance creation sector and its value chain
  • Demonstrated leadership and unifying spirit, with proven experience in managing, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and high performing environment.
  • Creative writing & Storytelling with +8/10 years of experience in the fragrance industry
  • Narrative expertise, ability to tell stories through texts and visuals for fragrance
  • Combines vision, creativity and rigor to develop and inspire aspirational & relevant fragrance communication & claims
  • Ethical stewardship, regulatory acuity and sharp discernment to pilot claim compliance and risk management
  • Consumer-centric, questions & thinks from a consumer’s perspective, seeks to create high consumer value
  • Analytical skills, ability to analyze and valorize qualitative and quantitative data from reports
  • Advanced level of communication (written, oral & visual skills): impactful aesthetic & strategic presentations to wide audiences & top management
  • Ability to work in a complex, international & multidisciplinary environment.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive, high sense of prioritization, organization, and flexibility
  • Team player, strong collaborative skills, efficient interaction with coworkers, internal & external stakeholders
