Your team & responsibilities

We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and user-focused Product Designer to join our team in Paris. As an integral member of the product design team, you’ll help shape the Cafeyn experience across platforms by designing features that are both intuitive and visually consistent.

Reporting to the Head of Brand & Product Design, you’ll work closely with product managers, developers, designers, as well as data and marketing teams, to bring ideas to life — from early exploration to final delivery. Your mission is to translate user needs and product goals into thoughtful, elegant design solutions that make staying informed both easy and enjoyable.

This is a hands-on design role where your contribution directly impacts how users engage with the product — balancing usability, consistency, and business value.

Your missions

Thinking

• Contribute to framing product challenges, understanding the context, and aligning your work with user needs and business goals

• Collaborate with product managers and developers to bring clarity and focus to each design problem

Insight

• Participate in discovery efforts and user research activities to better understand reader behaviors, needs, and pain points

• Translate insights into actionable design ideas, and advocate for users throughout the design process

Craft

• Design intuitive, elegant, and accessible interfaces that reflect Cafeyn’s visual identity and editorial values

• Translate complex ideas into simple, cohesive interactions across platforms (web, iOS, Android)

Systems

• Work with our design system to build consistent, scalable user experiences

• Propose refinements or new components when needed, with input from fellow designers and developers

Collaboration

• Partner daily with Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing teams to bring features to life

• Share work early, seek feedback, and contribute to a collaborative and respectful team culture

Iteration

• Prototype your ideas at the right level of fidelity and test them with users or stakeholders

• Integrate feedback with curiosity and pragmatism to continuously improve your designs

Ownership

• Take responsibility across the full product design cycle — from discovery and design to QA and delivery

• Follow through on implementation details and advocate for the quality of the user experience post-launch

Who are we looking for?

You are at the right place if you have

• 2–4 years of experience in product design, preferably on digital platforms or consumer-facing applications
  
• A solid portfolio showcasing your ability to solve real user problems through thoughtful interaction and visual design
  
• Proficiency in design tools, especially Figma, and familiarity with design systems
  
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and other teams to deliver complete user experiences
  
• Comfort participating in user research and usability testing — whether leading it or working closely with researchers, developers and PMs
  
• The ability to turn insights into design ideas that are both practical and user-centered
  
• Strong communication skills — you explain your design decisions clearly and invite feedback
  
  
• A genuine interest in media, journalism, or digital content, and the role design plays in making it more accessible and engaging
