Job description

JOW is looking for a Motion Design Intern or Alternant to support our design, marketing, and food teams on creating dynamic, engaging, and on-brand motion pieces for a variety of campaigns and channels. You’ll be an integral part of the JOW Studio, working alongside a Creative Lead, Motion Designer, Graphic Designer, and Content Creator.

This is a huge opportunity to grow your motion skills with the help of an invested mentorship !

What you’ll do & Learn :

  • Own the motion process from the beginning to the end: from storytelling and storyboarding, to art direction and production

  • Participate and contribute in brainstorms, meetings, and presentations. Present and communicate design concepts strategically.

  • Work on a variety of marketing and communication projects across multiple formats, including ads, explainer videos, animated gifs, etc.

  • Help the creative team with tasks on daily basis

Our office :

  • Full kitchen with lots of food 🥐

  • Yoga class once a week at the office 🧘

  • 5 days as a volonteer in the organisation of your choice 🫶

  • Remote Equipment 💻

Preferred experience

  • You’re highly motivated designer who wants to broaden your knowledge of motion graphics within a startup environment

  • You have a portfolio showcasing your best work. Applicants without a portfolio will not be considered.

  • You already have strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite programs (especially After Effects). Being proficient in Figma is a bonus.

  • You have the fundamentals nailed (design and animation principles, visual hierarchy, layout, typography, grid, and colour). You know what makes a motion piece “on brand.”

  • You’re organized, dynamic and a team player! You’re collaborative and humble. You share your successes and take feedback gracefully.

  • You’re based in the Paris area and are proficient in English and/or French

Recruitment process

  • A 30 min call with Marjorie, our motion designer, to see if the stars are aligned

  • Complete a short motion design exercise (1 to 2 hours maximum). We want to keep it short since we’re only looking to understand your working processes, and your work will not be used by Jow.

  • 1 formal interview with the Studio team and Ethelind, our Creative Lead

  • Coffee with the team: we want you to be happy to see our teammates every morning, so one of the very first things we check for is cultural fit.
We have a “no brilliant jerks” rule!
Being nice, cool and humble is as mandatory as being good at what you do ;-)
