About the role

Trustpair is looking for an Engineering Manager who excels in fostering teamwork and driving project execution. Working alongside our Tech Lead, you'll play a crucial role in translating strategic technical visions into actionable plans for your team. With a balanced approach, you'll actively contribute to development tasks while focusing on guiding your team to implement technical strategies effectively.

In this collaborative role, you will support our Tech Lead by ensuring the team is aligned with high-level technical decisions. Your contribution will be key in problem-solving and optimizing project workflows, ensuring that the team consistently delivers high-quality solutions. You will not only provide mentorship but also work hand-in-hand with our Tech Lead to create an environment where innovative ideas can thrive and be executed efficiently.

    What you'll do:

    Direct Engineering Contribution

    Direct Technical Contribution:

    • Dedicate a significant portion of your time to coding, implementing features, and addressing bugs in key projects
    • Actively engage in the entire development lifecycle from exploration to deployment
    • Collaborate closely with Product Managers on early exploratory projects to align technical feasibility with product vision

    Quality & Standards:

      • Uphold high standards of code quality, system reliability, and performance
      • Participate in code reviews and contribute to setting and maintaining coding best practices and standards within your team


    People Management & Organization 

    Operational Management & Reporting

    • Manage project schedules and resources for your team, focusing on the next 3 months' deliverables
    • Regularly provide insights on engineering needs and enablers for upcoming initiatives to Product Managers
    • Deliver clear and concise progress reports on all ongoing and upcoming projects at regular intervals

    Team Management and Development:

    • Mentor and develop software engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
    • Conduct performance reviews, guide career development, and hold regular 1:1 meetings with each member of your team
    • Oversee effective onboarding and continuous training opportunities for your team
    • Identify and facilitate opportunities for team training and skill development

    Team Organization and Collaboration:

    • Act as a liaison between your team and other internal and external teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
    • Adapt your team's organization to meet goals and facilitate relevant technical and team meetings
    • Collaborate with leadership to align technical projects with broader business objectives

    Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

    • Lead initiatives to enhance development practices and workflows for increased efficiency
    • Initiate and drive continuous improvement in team processes, measuring the impact of new implementations

      Must-Haves:

      • Extensive experience in software development (Ruby on Rails) and technical project management
      • Demonstrated leadership skills with prior experience in team management and development
      • Strong hands-on coding skills and a commitment to staying technically proficient
      • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to communicate and work with technical & non-technical stakeholders
      • Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
      • Fluent in English 


      This position is open to full remote, however candidates must be based within France. 

      This position is open to a permanent contract only.
