About the mission we offer you:

Our factories are increasingly being built in modular form, with each module then transported to the final factory construction site.
To achieve this, we use what we call SPMTs (Self-Propelled Modular Transporters): modular motorized platforms that are placed under the modules, moving them on roads and loading them onto transport vessels.

Currently, these SPMTs operate on a hydraulic grouping scheme considering three support points.

The main objective is to examine the impact of a new method of arranging the SPMTs under the modules, at four points, which allows for greater flexibility and is less dependent on the module's weight and center of gravity.
It will therefore be necessary to:

• Implement the new calculation method, in particular how to account for skew load (non-uniform load distribution due to the system's hyperstaticity and the module's flexibility).
• Develop a calculation tool
• Validate the assumptions
• Determine the impact on the structural design (weight, reinforcement)
• State the limitations of this new method
• Prepare a study guide

 The study will be conducted for a module sized using AISC/API codes and subjected to the stresses generated by various pre-service (lifting and transport) and in-place conditions.

Duration : 6 months
