As part of the 4-person Finance team, and reporting to the Head of Finance, the General Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the general accounts are properly kept, following main functions:

Supplier accounting

• Creation and modification of supplier files in the accounting tool (ERP SAP By Design developed for SMEs)

• Entering invoices (general and analytical accounting using analytical codes provided by operational staff) in the accounting tool

• Follow-up of supplier payments and lettering

• Preparing supplier payments

Accounts Receivable and Sales

• Creation and modification of customer files in the accounting tool

• Issuing customer invoices and monitoring incoming payments, lettering and customer reminders

• Carrying out safe and cash register inventories

• Entering customer invoices

• Entering entries relating to sales of merchandise for the online shop, physical shop and the café area (Shopify and IZettle)

General accounting

• Managing the accounts department’s email inbox (sorting emails and invoices, replying to emails, etc.)

• Entry of manual monthly and annual entries

• Entry of payroll entries

• Validation and injection of expense claims made with business cards into the accounting accounting system

• Checking the consistency of documents produced through monthly reports (bank reconciliations, monitoring of manual entries)

• Proper maintenance of financial statements

• Taking an active part in the monthly and annual closings and assisting the Finance Manager during the audit period by the statutory auditors

• Contribution to the financial and budgetary analysis of the company carried out by the finance team using reliable accounting data

• Assisting the chartered accountants to prepare tax returns by providing them with the providing them with the appropriate extracts

• Flair for numbers

• Solid grounding in French accounting (French Gaap is a must)

• Comfortable with IT (Gmail, Excel, ERP environment)

• Professional English required
