SiPearl is building the European high-performance low-power microprocessor dedicated to supercomputing and AI inference. This new generation of microprocessors will first target EuroHPC Joint Undertaking ecosystem, which is deploying world-class supercomputing infrastructures in Europe for solving major challenges in medical research, security, energy management and climate with a reduced environmental footprint.

SiPearl is working in close collaboration with its 30 partners from the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium - leading names from the scientific community, supercomputing centres and industry - which are its stakeholders, future clients and end-users.

SiPearl employs more than 190 people in France (Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis), Germany (Duisburg) and Spain (Barcelona).

💻 About the role

Under the supervision of the System and Software Architecture Team Leader and in collaboration with the members of the System and Software Architecture team as well as partners and clients, the System Architect's objective is to prepare and ensure the integration of SiPearl microprocessors at both software and hardware levels with other constituent components (BMC, Accelerators, Operating Systems, Applications) of an HPC server.

The System Architect is also involved in collaborative and partnership projects.

🎯Activities and Tasks

- Collaborate with clients and partners to define the integration framework of SiPearl microprocessors at the level of an HPC node or Data Center.
- Clearly identify the main data flows and bandwidth requirements on SiPearl microprocessors' interfaces.
- Ensure compliance and stability of these interfaces throughout the processor lifecycle, especially during software updates.
- Collaborate with the Project Office to assess development costs (software, manufacturing) specific to the proposed architecture.
- Define and prepare 'proof of concept' to validate architecture hypotheses.
- Prepare and involve SiPearl architects, partners, and clients in joint working sessions (workshops).
- Develop and maintain system specifications usable by partners or clients.Regularly contribute qualitatively and quantitatively to collaborative projects at the European level (EuroHPC, EPI).

🔍 What Will Help You Succeed in This Role

- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position as System Architect or in a Software Architect role.
- HPC experience: multi-core architecture, mesh network, low latency, high bandwidth interfaces, benchmarking, troubleshooting, security, integration.Project management.

Technical Skills
Proficiency in English in an international environment.
Proficiency in programming languages (C, C++, other necessary languages).
Proficiency in Gitlab, Polarion, PlantUML tools
Knowledge of server hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, DDR, HBM, PCIe).Good knowledge of server protocols (RedFish, IPMI, PSCI, SCMI, PLDM).
Good knowledge of software development for Linux and Windows.Good understanding of security constraints.
Ability to debug effectively, identify root causes, and solve problems concerning multiple subsystems.
Ability to benchmark HPC system performance.
