Our Logistics teams at Siemens Global Business Services support Siemens world wide in various Supply Chain fields (Transportation & Customs, Freight Clearing, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Digitalization of various Logistics processes etc.).

What are the main tasks of the SCM Consultant?

  • Consulting and project management for projects in various fields of Supply Chain Management in Manufacturing environmentGeneral material flow (supplier, manufacturing locations, distribution centers), global delivery network planning & optimization
  • Forecasting and scheduling, disposition & material management process, production planning & scheduling, advanced planning
  • Inbound logistics: warehousing - warehouse build up, management & optimization.
  • Production process and quality optimization; production process digitalization; product optimization with developers/suppliers, new products introduction
  • Analyze and Optimize Supply Chain – to improve and change existing processes, to design new processes, use lean methods, maximize digitalization and automation potential, support utilization of new logistics and manufacturing technologies in the fields mentioned above.
  • Managing projects in project manager role or as consultant; lead other team members, act as trusted advisor to internal customers, prepare decision proposals for senior management, draft solutions and concepts for IT departments and providers, manage implementation of suggested solutions.
  • Supporting build up and further growth of internal consulting services in field of Supply Chain Management.

What do we expect from the SCM Consultant?

  • Excellent understanding and expertise in one of the focus areas mentioned above (proven project or long operational experience), very good end to end Supply Chain understanding.
  • Very good knowledge of SAP and in general high IT affinity is a must, Agile methodologies experience a benefit.
  • Project Management experience
  • Familiar with some of the continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen)
  • Above average soft skills expected - professional communication, capable to sell own ideas and convince others, structured, analytical, capability to understand complex environment, customer oriented.
  • Passion for Supply Chain Management
  • Very good command of English and German language.
