As the Head of Sales and Programmatic, Osaka for Outbrain Japan, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, managing sales strategy, and expanding market share in the Japanese Adtech industry. You will lead a high-performing sales team, develop key client relationships, and leverage your expertise to drive business results. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the company's sales direction in a dynamic and evolving market. This role will be based in Osaka, Japan

A day in the life

  • Sales Strategy and Execution:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and market penetration in Japan.
    • Identify key opportunities for business development and expansion in West Japan.
    • Excellent pre existing relationships with Agencies and clients in West Japan.
    • Lead the sales team in prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals with clients.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Manage and mentor a team of sales professionals, setting clear goals and objectives for individual and team performance.
    • Provide ongoing training and support to ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Client/ Agency Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
    • Act as the main point of contact for client communications, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Market Analysis and Business Development:
    • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product enhancements and innovations based on market feedback.
  • Sales Operations and Reporting:
    • Oversee sales pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting to track performance and drive decision-making.
    • Utilize CRM tools and analytics to monitor sales activities, evaluate effectiveness, and optimize processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Adtech industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on agency relations.
  • Proven track record of establishing, growing, and maintaining deep relationships with advertising agencies.
  • Strong business acumen and expertise in the Adtech ecosystem, especially relating to agency needs and customer centricity.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at both high-level strategic conversations and detailed execution discussions.
  • Analytical thinker with a customer-centric attitude and a commitment to driving satisfaction and loyalty
  • Deep understanding of the Japanese Adtech landscape, including key players, trends, and client needs.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team to achieve targets.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with native level Japanese and business level English.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a strategic approach to sales planning and execution.
  • Experience in utilizing sales analytics tools.
