At Orakl Oncology, we are accelerating the development of oncology treatments. Today, fewer than 5% of new cancer drugs succeed in clinical trials. Clearly, new methods are needed. We combine cutting-edge biology and AI to build the next generation of insight platforms with the world’s largest cohort of patient tumor avatars. These avatars fuel our AI-powered predictive engine, helping to anticipate clinical trial outcomes, validate therapies, and uncover new drug candidates. By generating multimodal, real-world data, we deliver insights that consistently outperform existing solutions.
Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to bring more effective treatments to patients who need them — and to make drug development smarter, faster, and more personalized. We collaborate with top hospitals, research institutes, and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Backed by leading investors, we are a fast-growing, mission-driven startup at the intersection of science and technology.
We have built a unique dataset that combines omics data with functional readouts from our patient-derived organoid (PDO) avatars platform, enabling us to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets. To unlock the full potential of this data at scale, we are looking for a Research Engineer to lead the productionization, continuous integration, and maintenance of the computational pipelines that power this work. The challenge is concrete: what reliable signal can we extract when we cross molecular profiles with drug response data and how fast can we turn that into production-grade methods that teams use every day? The methods you build will become the backbone of Orakl’s omics analysis codebase. You will work from features already extracted from production omics pipelines, design methods that extract actionable signals, and ship them as robust, automated pipelines the entire company relies on.
Productionization & Deployment: Collaborate with Research Scientists to understand and turn their validated methods into production-ready, versioned code. Ensure robust documentation, scalability and reproducibility of the developed tools.
Continuous Integration & Maintenance: Build and maintain workflows to ensure new method versions are automatically tested, validated, and deployed without breaking existing production code. Manage versioning to ensure clear traceability between method versions and generated results.
Automation & Acceleration: Design workflows to systematically benchmark novel methods, and explore the best biological signals. Automate everything that can be automated: testing, validation, reporting, deployment.
You have an engineering and builder mindset
You have strong Python skills
You have solid grasp of software engineering best practices: Git, CI/CD, testing frameworks, code quality tools.
Prior experience with omics data is a plus, not a requirement. What matters is strong curiosity and the ability to understand the methods developed by research scientists quickly and turn it into high quality code.
MSc or Engineering degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Computational Biology. Engineering background is a must. A PhD is not required.
3+ years of experience in a software engineering or production-oriented role, ideally combining data science and software engineering.
Proven experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks in a production environment.
Fluent in English.
Experience with omics data (transcriptomics, genomics, proteomics) or large-scale biological datasets.
Experience building or using agentic AI workflows (LLM-based agents, automated benchmarking systems).
Previous experience in a startup or scaling company environment.
At Orakl Oncology, we are generating a unique and novel dataset, thanks to which we advance the fight against cancer. As a Research Engineer, the code you write will be used every day by teams across the company to generate actionable insights from real patient-derived data.
Your contributions will be critical and highly visible. The results your work will produce will directly influence key drug development decisions. This role is perfect for a candidate that wants to work on complex biological data, write clean code and have an outsized impact on the fight against cancer.
HR Call (20 minutes call) – An initial discussion to better understand your background, experiences, and motivations.
Technical Interview (45 minutes call) – A deep dive into your technical skills and expertise relevant to the role.
Technical Case (1 hour presentation + discussion) - A case study or problem-solving exercise to assess your strategic thinking and analytical abilities. If possible this can be done in person.
Founders Culture Interview (45 minutes)- As final step of our recruitment process, you will meet the founders of Orakl Oncology in person at our office. This meeting is an opportunity for the founders to assess cultural fit and ensure alignment with our company values.
