Position: Technical Support Engineer

Context

• New position

Purpose

• Responsible for providing technical support and help to the maintenance team. He is the key technical contact within his field and proposes solutions to improve equipment.

Areas of responsibility

• Supports maintenance teams in solving complex problems by providing technical help.
• Prepares the execution of new projects (order of goods, feasibility, monitoring of works)
• Validates projects end and acceptance with concerned department (process, production, …)
• Prepares training of maintenance team in different work-related issues.
• Follows safety rules and keeps his work area safe
• Follows environment rules
• Apply Nexans rules and regulation
• Participates in local meetings and contribute to the regular Plant performance analysis.
• Manages and coordinates Preventive maintenance planning of all plant machines.
• Subcontracting & Outsourcing management.
• Takes part in the preparation of the annual budget of his department.

• Help the maintenance team to reach its targets to keep the machines and utilities at highest performance.

Required skills and qualifications

• Leaderships skills, proactive and positive thinking
• Problem solving skills
• Electrical/Automation Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience in PLC programming, debugging, and system integration
• Expertise in motor drive programming, tuning, and parameterization (VFDs and servo systems)
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and control panel layouts
• Experience in commissioning and startup of industrial machinery
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial electrical maintenance, knowledge of industrial mechanics is a plus
• Very good oral and written skills in Arabic, English and French
• Excellent computer literacy: Microsoft office, AutoCAD, TIA portal, WinCC, Ladder…
