Digital business transformation is a journey to adopt and deploy digital technologies and business models to improve performance quantifiably. The first step is to grasp the need for change—an imperative driven by the inevitability of digital disruption. Digital disruption now has the potential to overturn incumbents and reshape markets faster than perhaps any force in history. Simply put, digital disruption is the effect of digital technologies and business models on a company’s current value proposition, and its resulting market position.

Nexans has launched key partnerships in the digital area in order to amplify its transformation.

    • Nexans partners with Schneider Electric on digital transformation program to bring industrial 4.0 to plant operations and amplify sustainability. The aim is to accelerate the transformation of Nexans into a business driven by clear, rich and actionable data as the foundation for improved business performance, safety and flexibility.
    • Nexans announced a collaboration with Microsoft to electrify the future by accelerating the development of digital solutions , developing enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud solutions as the foundation for digital services and solutions that will drive the global energy transition.

During the last years, a Group-wide digitalization program has been rolled out across more than  40 manufacturing sites. This program has established solid foundations in areas such as Fabriq, MES, IoT, and data analytics. The Group is now entering a new phase, focused on consolidating existing gains, ensuring continuity, and defining the next frontier of its industrial transformation. Key new challenges include integrating artificial intelligence into core processes and initiating a strategic vision for plant robotics. This role is central to structuring and driving these innovation tracks in a scalable, sustainable, and business-aligned way.

Areas of responsibilities : 

MES Stability & Deployment

  • Stabilize and optimize the MES solution to ensure reliable performance, data quality, and effective RUN support (incident management and resolution) across sites.
  • Support MES deployments, rollouts, upgrades, and ongoing operational support.
  • Act as a key interface between plants, IT, and external vendors to ensure smooth adoption and service continuity.

Standardization & Enablement

  • Drive standardization of MES usage, processes, and best practices across sites, animating the key-user network and fostering best-practice sharing.
  • Enable sites through key-user training, documentation, and coaching, ensuring sustainable and consistent MES usage.
  • Ensure alignment between business needs, operational processes, and MES functionalities through close collaboration with key users and operational leaders.

Value Creation & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to Identify, propose, and prioritize value-adding use cases based on MES data (e.g., productivity, quality, OEE, downtime reduction, etc.).
  • Define and validate savings tracking and reporting,
  • Work with industrial and operational teams to translate data into actionable insights and improvement initiatives.
  • Participate to measure and communicate the impact and benefits generated by MES data -driven initiatives to support operational excellence and competitiveness improvement.
  • Capitalize on successful initiatives by developing scalable methods and sharing best practices across sites and functions.

Profile : 

  • Master degree in engineering ~3-5 years of experience in manufacturing systems, industrial operations, or operational excellence, ideally with hands-on shop floor exposure.
  • Solid understanding of industrial processes (production, quality, maintenance, performance indicators) and Lean / continuous improvement principles.
  • Not required to be an MES expert — but must have the ability and motivation to quickly learn the MES tool and use it to drive value
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with operational teams and key stakeholders.
  • Proactive, analytical, and value-oriented mindset, with a focus on process optimization and operational excellence. Green belt certificate will be a plus.
  • Languages: Fluent in English (mandatory). - Other languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese) are a plus depending on plant locations.
  • Knowledge of flow management and production line optimization is a plus.
  • The role requires travels to manufacturing sites to support deployment and value realization.
