The Sustainable Innovation Institute (IID-SII), created by LGI, is an emerging think and do tank on sustainable innovation, with projects on the circular economy and Nature-Based Solutions is looking for a communication officer 🚀

As a communication officer, you will use the English language to be involved in supporting the overall communication of European collaborative projects in the areas of sustainability (currently NBRACER project and another on the way).

The position will also involve supporting the application of new projects and further require the development the IID-SII organisation. You will contribute your communication and management skills to the development of the organisation, in collaboration with the association governance and staff.

This position requires a multidisciplinary and open-minded profile, with the ability to work with stakeholders in different sectors, and the agility required for working in a recent organisation where much is still to be built. We want to see you grow! You will collaborate with others working in communication, as well as our affiliate company, LGI. You will be responsible for the overall delivery of the activities detailed below.

📌 Communication and content creation:

• Design, adjustment and deployment of a communication strategy

• Managing project communication (website, socials and content for events & meetings)

• Organising webinars, participating in events, and monitoring partners’ efforts to disseminate project results

• Creation and management of editorial calendars

• Design of different communication materials (brochures, posters and flyers)

• Analysing the performance of communication campaigns

• Community management: development of engaging content for the target audience

• Monitoring and analysing community engagement indicators to measure the impact of communication and awareness-raising campaigns

• Drafting press releases and follow press reviews

• Organisation of photo and video shoots

📌 Project management:

• European project monitoring and follow-up (actions, deliverables and milestones)

• Preparing project meetings and events

• Preparing official communication reports to be submitted to the European Commission

• Coordination with partners in Europe and possible leadership of working groups

• Facilitating design thinking workshops

• Strategic studies and implementation (business modelling, exploitation…)

📌 Gestion de projet :

• Contrôle et suivi de projets européens (actions, livrables et jalons).

• Préparation des réunions et événements de projets

• Préparation de rapports de communication officiels à soumettre à la Commission européenne.

• Coordination avec des acteurs en Europe, avec une possibilité de mener des groupes de travail.

📌 Strategie :

• Animation d’ateliers de design thinking

• Études stratégiques et mise en œuvre (business modelling, gestion de la propriété intellectuelle…)

🏅 Background:

• Professional or other experience in communications and graphic design

• At least 1 year of EU project experience and knowledge of funding frameworks, including Horizon Europe

• Hold a master’s degree or equivalent work experience in communications of a field related to sustainable innovation, climate change, decarbonisation, circular economy, or biodiversity

💻 Communication officer & web design skills:

• Knowledge of communication/dissemination methods and prior experience with various communication tools

• Experience and knowledge of graphic design (Adobe and Canva)

• Experience and knowledge in community management

• Experience and knowledge on web design – Figma is a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
