We are looking for someone who is competent in engineering, microfluidics or cell culture on chip with an appetence towards market-driven innovation and entrepreneurship.

You will work in the Microfluidics Innovation Center of Elvesys and will be in charge of the design and implementation of proof of concepts of instruments and setups developed by our talented engineers, most of them centered in cellular perfusion.

As a part of the R&I team, you will perform iterations and give feedback on their products and prototypes to ultimately validate them for pre- or final release.

You will interact with our academic and industrial collaborators in our future or ongoing European grants. In this frame, you will participate in meetings and reporting of projects linked to your work.

In short, you’ll be helping to design new technical solutions with our R&I team and be open to learning in all the areas within your reach.

Your missions will be the following:

●        Within our innovation team, you will work on scientific projects around microfluidics to meet the needs and specifications from the market and from our European research partners.

●        You will be a driving force to solve all the challenges you meet in a simple, audacious and smart way.

●        You will participate in the development of future microfluidic instruments for our product range and develop microfluidic components and platforms for all scientific applications in our field, with a special focus on cell perfusion.

●        You will explore all the side roads and implement all the crazy ideas that make sense to keep the Microfluidics Innovation center at the forefront of innovation in the microfluidics sector.

●        You have a PhD related to microfluidics, organ on chip, or cell culture with knowledge in perfusion and you are ready to work on multidisciplinary projects. Having an engineering degree is a strong plus.

●        Ideally, you have skills in either fluid mechanics, biotechnology, physics, biomedicine or advanced cell biology.

●        You are scientifically rigorous, creative and pragmatic.

●        You know how to think “outside the box”, to find simple solutions to complicated problems, you are not afraid to tackle complex issues and you know how to quickly make them your own.

●        You feel comfortable in an entrepreneurial, international environment and are confident to work independently.

●        You don’t like routine, and you can adapt quickly to changes in direction.

●        You want to do meaningful work, and you want your participation in our research projects to help change the world.
