To accelerate our business growth in the APAC region, we decided to open a new office in Shanghai (operational since January 2024). We are now looking for a General Manager to lead the operations in China, manage the Shanghai team and support business development. Our ambition is to generate a turnover of 100M+ RMB within 5 years, levering our existing footprint in Great China and collaboration with our international offices in Paris, London and New York.

About the role

As General Manager of our Shanghai office, you are a senior executive within Ekimetrics and report to the Head of Hong Kong. Your role also involves a strong interaction with other senior executives within the overall organization.

It mainly requires managing China P&L and contributing to the growth of Ekimetrics’ activities in China.

Your main Responsibilities:

Business Strategy

·       In collaboration with the Board of Partners, you define and articulate the Shanghai office strategy and business roadmaps accordingly, to ensure the company growth and long-term viability.

Business Development

·       Through active market-facing activities and network leverage, you develop and sustain executive clients relationships and identify and build key partnerships to develop new business opportunities.

·       You grow and manage on a regular basis pipeline activities through new business development opportunities and outbound sales activities.

·       You identify specific sales opportunities and effectively manage the transition from business opportunity to proposal development to award.

·       You successfully close profitable deals and deliver as sold. You leverage extensive relationships with potential clients to identify the “right deals”.

·       You support client delivery and business development teams in order to build strong relationships with the decision makers and key influencers; shape opportunities with clients, in line with Ekimetrics’ procurement policies and guidelines.

Delivery

·       You work on C-level challenging projects and with international blue-chip clients across diverse industries, on both advanced data analytics and consulting, including meeting with clients and building bespoke solutions to face their challenges. You manage several projects simultaneously.

·       You create an innovative and motivating environment where teams build expertise on several methodologies and industries and develop an exceptional combination of both technical and business skills. In line with the Group values on transmission and excellence, you work in strong cooperation with the other offices to ensure leveraging synergies and sharing best practices.

Business acumen & client relationship

·       You broaden client relationships at VP level in order to foresee new business opportunities.

·       You bring impactful value to clients by helping top management to define marketing and business strategy, and implement the changes needed to achieve sustainable performance improvement.

Team management & people development

·       You work closely with your management team, including partners, senior managers and support functions, to obtain and align resources to hire, develop staff, manage performance, and enhance analytics talent at all levels.

·       You have the responsibility to identify actions to improve engagement, to retain top performers by building a culture of empowerment and by supporting their development as future leaders at Ekimetrics.

·       You provide visible sponsorship on recruiting, retaining & engaging diverse talents in your organization and promote international mobility.

Company development

·       You are strongly involved in the company development initiatives and are a strong representative of Ekimetrics’ Culture.

·       You bring new insight on leadership skills, specific to different industries and continue to build Ekimetrics’ reputation and employer branding in China.

About You

·       You have 15+ years of experience in a global corporation with a strong reputation for analytics for an industry or in the tech industry in a senior role interacting and impacting with C-leaders network.

·       You have proven track record in leading successful global data and analytics transformations as business consultant or as leader in industry creating measurable business impact for your organization and/or clients.

·       You have a strong actionable network of senior level partner/client and/or business stakeholders in China for business activation.

·       You have demonstrated a solid experience in managing a P&L or significant budget within a global context.

·       You have a proven track record on building and sustaining senior level client relationships and business developments in China.

·       You are recognized as a successful, knowledgeable leader and spokesperson in the digital/data science ecosystem. 

·       You have experience in managing and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.

·       Qualifications: BA/Masters’ degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, operations research or related field from a leading academic institution.
