The Microtech team works on the development and integration of cutting-edge technologies that are revolutionizing the way medicines are produced at microfluidic scale. At the heart of their work lies a miniaturized engineering marvel: the microfluidic bioprocessor. This bioprocessor is designed to control every step of the drug manufacturing process with unrivalled precision. The team also designs the single-use components that complement this technology. The objective of the Foundry team is to design, validate and implement an automated industrial manufacturing line dedicated to manufacture microtechnologies complying with the demanding quality and regulatory criteria of pharmaceutical industry.
Vita, Head of Microtech
The Instrument and Software teams work together on the Lakhesys™ platform, which brings microfluidic processes to life. The Instrument team develops the hardware part of the benchtop cell factory. This team’s aim is to translate research into innovative and robust product solutions. This involves a combination of multiple technical disciplines: mechanics, thermics, fluidics, electronics and optics. The Software team works on the operating software of the benchtop cell factory, with the aim of automating complex tasks while offering efficient process execution as well as analysis and visualization of production data. To achieve this, the team draws on proven and newly developed technologies, combining robust programming languages and cloud-based tools.
Vincent, Head of Instrument
The Biology team develops cell therapy applications using microfluidic chips integrated into the Lakhesys™ platform. Composed of passionate scientists and researchers, this team’s aim is to demonstrate the production of cell therapies such as CAR-T cells by using the Lakhesys™ benchtop cell factory. The team works closely with the other R&D teams to optimize bioproduction processes by exploring innovative approaches.
Giulia, Head of Biology
