Purpose of the job
As part of our strategic growth and commitment to workforce sustainability, NUVIA is seeking an Early Careers Lead to professionalise and expand our early talent development initiatives. This role will be pivotal in managing relationships with educational institutions, overseeing professional and vocational development pathways, and ensuring consistent, high-quality experiences for apprentices, graduates, and trainees.

Learning & Development Manager
Key Accountabilities
University / College Engagement
Build and maintain structured partnerships with priority universities and colleges. Coordinate student placements, industry projects, and outreach events.
STEM outreach strategy
Design and deliver engaging activities and workshops for schools and colleges, coordinating participation in national STEM events, supporting internal STEM Ambassadors / Early Career Group, and aligning all engagement with social value goals and client expectations.
Early Careers Progression
Track development of all early career hires. Support line managers with progression milestones, college appraisals, and consistent frameworks.
Award Submissions and Recognition
Identify and submit entries for national and industry awards. Coordinate internal recognition initiatives to celebrate success.
Social Value and Metrics
Align early careers activity with client social value metrics (e.g., TOMS, PPN 06/20). Report impact for bids, internal scorecards, and external stakeholders.
Occupational Skills and Knowledge
· CIPD Accredited or relevant qualifications for the role
Duties and Requirements
Essential:
· Proven experience in early careers, talent development, or L&D roles.
· Strong understanding of vocational and professional development frameworks.
· Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with educational institutions.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
Desirable:
· Experience in the nuclear, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
· Knowledge of social value frameworks and public sector reporting requirements.
