Context:

We are looking for Data Asset Owners (DAOs), the Product Owners of data assets accountable for the delivery, relevancy, and accessibility of their data assets. 

DAO prioritizes and manages the development of its data assets. He works with Data management team, consumers of this data, the delivery team, the run team, the security team, etc …. to ensure that data assets get built efficiently and meet user needs. He also manages the setup of features such as observability and SLOs once defined with the stakeholders.

DAO is the key point of contact for any request throughout the data asset lifecycle. He qualifies demands (initial need, new features, …) and defines functional requirements to help technical teams fulfill business needs. He is also accountable for data asset remediations where he ensures the proper resolution of incidents by soliciting relevant stakeholders (run team, D&A platform team, Data Governor, etc …). He manages accesses and defines sharing policies of the data asset.

Hard skills:

·       Experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or software development

·       Experience in data/analytics technologies esp. Microsoft Azure/Power BI

·       Data classification and understanding of the different local data governance laws

·       Advanced knowledge and experience as a product owner with a track record of managing all aspects of a successful data asset throughout its lifecycle

·       Experience of managing team in Agile methodology, managing a backlog.

·       Ensuring cross team working, knowledge share and pragmatic ownership of issues or challenges as they may arise

·       Familiarity with both waterfall and agile methodologies

·       Familiarity with project and change management processes

You will do:

Data as an Asset/Product owner

·       Owns the data that is part of his domain/portfolio

·       Defines a data asset backlog and roadmap and the supervision of the projects by ensuring their realization.

·       Works closely with different stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements to qualify them. Identifies the gaps in terms of existing and requested data.

·       Accountable and responsible for ensuring requirements are accurately analyzed, designed, and documented in line with standards and processes

·       Facilitating, influencing, and driving business stakeholder in forums to prioritize requirements and identify sponsorship for the initiatives

·       Reporting and maintaining a dashboard on the status of the data assets in their portfolio

·       Manages the data asset governance, security and data protection laws and aligns with Global/regional processes

·       Translates business requirements into actionable tasks, prices them, prioritizes them based on value and urgency, and creates a roadmap for data projects.

·       Aligns with the framework, process defined on data asset life cycle and produces documents that are part of the process and works with different teams to obtain approvals.

·       Works and animates with the delivery teams to have these data product delivery on time and within budget and readily available in the data lakes for different use cases

·       Participates and make sure the proper testing along with the different business users before releasing the data on production for use cases.

·       Responsible for the data cataloging, access controls on the different usage of the data assets in his/her portfolio

·       Monitors the data assets in his domain and works with appropriate teams to remediate data quality and availability issues.

·       Fosters adoption and usage of data assets through a product vision

·       Oversee delivery of new features and capabilities on the Data asset

·       Ensures compliance with policies in terms of security, quality, development, and sub-contracting.

·       Prices and tracks the build and consumption of the data asset.
