Past and future
End of 2018, the SOWIT adventure was born from the desire to provide the African continent with the technologies necessary for its emergence. In 2019, SOWIT's very first accomplishments took place in Zambia and Ethiopia.
In Ethiopia, SOWIT signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture to estimate cereal yields, a crop at the center of food security. In Zambia, SOWIT launched the training of its network of African partners, more than 26 companies, that now made up the AfricaGoesDigital group.
By the end of 2019, SOWIT launched its first seed funding, securing $1,000,000, accelerating its development, and allowing its activity to cover more than 70,000 hectares in 2021.

At a time when health, food, energy and environmental challenges are accumulating, the continent will not be able to emerge without feeding its growing populations.
Becoming the "data" reference for agricultural value chains means participating in putting African agriculture in working order, encouraging the growth of a continent in slow development and proving that a vanguard African agriculture can change the course of history.
SOWIT's ambition is to accelerate the emergence of the agricultural vanguard by over-capacitating 1,000,000 hectares managed by 100,000 farmers, making them pioneers of a green revolution.
Sowers take pleasure in sharing their expertise. They are "transmitters" of know-how, from North to South and from South to North and facilitators between AI and reality "on the ground". Sowers shuffle the cards, never take anything for granted and refuse fate.
Our teams are driven by action, rely on facts, create on a daily basis and break it down to popularize. Sowers like a challenge, they admit their limits but relentlessly push them.
Sowers work transparently, lay things out, discuss, agree and then firmly hold the course as a team.

SOWIT's action is fundamentally in favor of the environment, the inclusion of vulnerable populations and the emergence of the least developed territories. The SOWIT mobile application includes a free component that allows farmers with an area of less than 5 hectares to benefit from SOWIT advice.
SOWIT works daily on algorithms to help farmers take into account global warming and the constraints it induces. How can we continue to cultivate when water is scarce and climatic events are becoming more and more extreme? This is part of the question that our decision support tools answer.
In 2020, a hailstorm hit the Saïss region in Morocco. Producers suffered huge losses and most were uninsured.
SOWIT offered a free diagnosis using remote sensing to accurately assess crop damage and set up a recovery plan.
