Position Summary

At Prose, we create custom formulations tailored to each customer's unique needs. Our cart recommendation represents a valuable touchpoint in the customer journey—an opportunity to enhance both the shopping experience and business performance.

Enhancing our recommendation system is a key priority in our product evolution strategy. As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern on our Algo Team, you'll contribute to improving components of our recommendation engine to deliver more relevant product suggestions to our customers. This role offers hands-on experience in applied machine learning within a dynamic e-commerce environment where your contributions will have a visible impact.

Additionally, you will participate in regular team tasks such as formulation algorithms updates, new features implementation and service maintenance, allowing you to gain comprehensive experience in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build a recommendation model & all useful metrics to assess its performance
• Integrate and deploy this model & metrics in our processes to automatically update our data warehouse
• Contribute high-quality, maintainable code with a focus on production-readiness and efficiency.
• Take part in team daily tasks such as formulation algorithms updates, new features implementation and service maintenance
• Participate in comprehensive peer-reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing to ensure the reliability of models.
• Able to communicate effectively to stakeholders

Key Candidate Requirements

• You love algorithms and new technology. You are also a great team worker and a great communicator in French and English.
• Experience with Python, along with common libraries such as pandas / scikit-learn
• A knack for writing clean, readable and maintainable code
• Knowledge of recommendation systems / GCP is a plus
• Eager to implement automated functional / unit tests and documentation
• Proficient with Git, a Unix shell, an editor (or IDE) and all others day-to-day developer tools
