📣 Marketing & Communication Internship:

LoungeUp is searching for a new, paid, full-time Marketing Intern who is a native-level fluent English speaker with a good level of French to start in early July 2024 for 6 months. As a Marketing Intern at LoungeUp, you will work directly with the Marketing Manager. You will be her right hand man/woman, helping her with the important behind the scenes work. If you are interested in learning more about Marketing and Communications within an ever-growing tech start-up, this is the internship for you.

🧢 You will be in charge of:

• Translating all of LoungeUp’s communications from French to English with the help of digital tools (press releases, articles, blog posts, newsletters, marketing material, social media posts etc.)

• Helping to prepare blog posts which are published on the company website (using the CMS Webflow) and visible to clients and prospects

• Collecting articles regarding the latest innovations and technologies in the hotel industry for the Press Review which is published every month. You will get to know the hotel and tech industry well.

• Keeping yourself up to date with the market publications: read news about hotel tech, watch competitors, keep informed about innovations, identify specific wordings for better translations, share interesting articles and strategic actions, and get inspired for the next blog posts.

• Using online software applications to create campaigns and infographics

• Participating in monthly presentations to the team presenting the marketing figures

• Helping with the recruitment of the following intern to take your place

• Spanish is also a big advantage, as you can help with the management of all the translations; including those into Spanish

🔎 What LoungeUp is looking for in a candidate for this role:

Attention to detail: you must be rigorous in your work and be good at checking over your tasks; translations in English should be perfect and professional.

Proactivity: take the initiative to submit ideas for new posts and articles; identify good practices to apply to our marketing strategy, analyse figures, organise the monthly press review, organise monthly apéros. 😉

Organisation: you must be good at note-taking and staying on top of different tasks at once; prioritising according to which tasks are more urgent is essential.

Sociability: LoungeUp is a friendly and young company, with plenty of socials available to attend after work—it is an opportunity for you to get involved and improve your French.

Excellent and professional writing skills and the drive to find the right words for translations: You are responsible for any content published in English: it has to be perfect and professional.

A very good level of French (B2/C1) and British English as a native language
If you’re also studying Spanish this is very beneficial. We have an in-house native-level Spanish speaker to translate, but you could be required to look over them and ensure they are completed.

💬 A word from the current intern

This 6-month internship is well suited to British university students in their 3rd year undertaking a ‘Year Abroad’ or to Masters students (with a mandatory ‘convention de stage’). The language spoken in the office is French and so a good level of comprehension is required to do the job well. This provides a great opportunity to improve your spoken French, especially with the social environment at lunch and the company’s monthly soirées.

The role is very varied and you will adapt to learning as you go. You will gain excellent experience working in a professional world while still being part of a friendly and sociable team. ⚠️ IMPORTANT ⚠️

Given the current climate, we have to be as efficient as possible as the candidate must obtain their VISA and be settled in Paris before the start of their placement. Brexit means that a visa is now required for British nationals who wish to enter and work in France for a period of 6 months to work. Obtaining a VISA requires specific documentation including an internship agreement signed by the DREETS in France whose processing time can be up to 1-2 months. It is very important to be able to organise all relevant documentation in good time so that you can start working in Paris on the agreed date. You will have an ‘overlap week’ with the current intern who will help you with the onboarding process and be able to answer any questions you have in your first week.
