The Team

Alvarez and Marsal’s dedicated Corporate Finance team has extensive experience of achieving impactful results for clients, from founders and entrepreneurs, through to financial investors of all sizes as well as market leading corporations. They work with clients operating across all industries globally with particular expertise in some of the fastest growing sectors in the midmarket – healthcare, technology, and tech enabled services. The EMEA Corporate Finance practice was launched only one year ago and already boasts over 80 professionals. The ambition is to build a market leading Corporate Finance practice globally, recruiting a talented and diverse team who will deliver exceptional results for its clients. 

 

The Team

Alvarez & Marsal’s Corporate Finance business unit in Paris is an emerging practice with an entrepreneurial spirit and ambitions for rapid growth. We are currently looking for an Intern to join our team.

You will have the opportunity of working with high international exposure and across the entire transaction life cycle. You will be part of the team executing deals in Sports, Leisure and Healthcare.

A&M Corporate Finance has a unique delivery model that enables junior members of the team to gain extensive exposure to Managing Directors and Senior Directors thus empowering individuals to fast track their careers and development. As an Intern, you will be working closely with the rest of the team and gain ‘on-the-job’ learning and development, leveraging on their substantial experience.

 

How you will contribute

Working with the other members of the team, the intern will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Participating in the execution and success of our sponsorship mandates 

  • Contributing to strategic recommendations and insights 

  • Collecting and analysing strategic data using internal tools (e.g. YouGov, GWI, GlobalData) 

  • Assisting in the production of pitches, deliverables, marketing and commercial documents 

  • Supporting prospection and negotiation meetings 

  • Updating and monitoring CRM systems and databases 

  • Conducting strategic market studies (benchmarking and sector/company analyses) 

  • Researching potential targets and preparing outreach approaches (identifying key people, strategies, etc.) 

  • Providing occasional support for other team activities (M&A in Sports, Leisure & Healthcare) 

 

Qualifications

  • Studying at a leading “Grande Ecoles” in Business and / or Engineering, or equivalent; 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; 

  • Ability to prioritise – especially in highly pressured situations; 

  • Advanced Powerpoint skills; 

  • Fluent business level English and French is essential. Additional European language skills including German, Italian or Spanish are highly desirable; 

  • Final-year student with a strong interest in a career within Sports Marketing & Finance.
