L'avis de Welcome
The world's biggest site for social reading and publishing, Scribd's website has over 250 million unique visitors each month and a vast content library, consisting of over 200 million audiobooks, magazines, ebooks and newspapers as well as media created by the Scribd community. While Scribd is the largest social reading site, it is not alone in offering this kind of media. It competes against some major players, the largest of which are Amazon's Kindle and Audible offerings, but also includes the likes of BookMate and the non-profit Internet Archive. Where it stands aside is in its feature-rich reader and the sheer diversity of its library, which, thanks to partnerships with several major publishers, features numerous popular titles as well as a range of independent creators. Further differentiating it from competitors, the company taken a firm stand on social issues, in particular the recent wave of book bannings taking place across the United States. By making the banned titles freely available it hopes to do its part in preserving literary freedom. With this tendency showing no signs of slowing down, Scribd's intervention in this area could prove to be important.
Vos missions au quotidien
- We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer to drive growth across Everand and Fable
- Everand and Fable are the heart of Scribd’s Premium business, reaching more than 1.4 million readers every month. Nobody’s cracked what reading looks like when your library and your book club live in the same place. That’s the opportunity, and you’d help define it
- Growth here means turning a curious reader into an engaged member of the community, a free user into a long-term subscriber, and a casual subscriber into someone who can’t imagine reading without us
- You’ll design the experiences across that journey, working closely with Product, Research, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to spot opportunities, run experiments, and ship work that moves real numbers
- Design has a real voice here. At this level, you’ll have the opportunity to lead vision and strategy across growth and lifecycle, and the people who thrive are the ones who take the reins and advocate for their POV
- You’ll report to our Director of Product Design and work alongside 6 Premium product and brand designers
- Own the moments that turn readers into subscribers across app, web, and email across onboarding, plans and pricing, referrals, and lifecycle
- Find natural ways to connect Fable’s community with Everand’s library
- Bring your own ideas for what to test, and partner with your PM to scope experiments and set success metrics
- Earn subscribers. No dark patterns, no tricks
- Take work from rough concept to production-ready without letting the details slip
- Bring a strong visual voice to two distinct brands, and define new patterns when our systems fall short
- Prototype early, in code when it’s the right tool. Use AI to explore more directions before narrowing, and validate them through usability testing before they ship
- Dig into results, spot where the journey is falling short, and bring a POV on what to try next
- Ground your decisions in research, competitive insight, and what customers actually do
- Share work early and often, and help the designers around you sharpen theirs

Ce que l’on cherche
- If you love books, care about the details that make a paywall feel like an invitation, and get a little thrill when a test result lands, you’ll have a lot of fun here
- You have 5+ years of product design experience, with real time spent on growth, monetization, or subscription products
- Your visual craft stands out, your interaction design is just as solid, and you know how to get to great quickly
- You love reading, and you have opinions about how and why people discover, share, and stick with books
- You’ve shipped experiments that moved conversion, activation, retention, and/or revenue, and you know why they worked
- Bonus: motion design, consumer subscription apps, mobile, or community and social products
- You ground decisions in data, research, and customer insight, and can make the case for them with both evidence and taste
- You use AI daily to explore, prototype, and understand, build workflows others can reuse, and hold its output to the same bar as your own work
- You think in journeys, not screens, and you help define the path forward when it isn’t clear
